I played the DS sample. It had some story about alien ants (There were other alien bugs too). Does the wiiware one have a story? How long (hours) is it? Do you like it? If so, why?
I finished the game, all 100 missions and wish there were more. I whipped my ants into shape but good, 2000 of 'em level 50 and up. Those other bugs never stood a chance. No alien bugs though, and no storyline.
I haven't played either version, but I was thrown off a bit when I read the review in Nintendo Power for it not realizing that it was for the DS version or that the game even existed on any other format than WiiWare. I had previously read the WiiWare review on here, of course, and that review was overall fairly positive and made the game sound worthwhile. But this DS review absolutely trashed the game and they dubbed it "Baby's First RTS". Apparently the gameplay is incredibly simplistic and offers few options besides the buttons for the "look for food" and "look for a fight" functions.
@LTG: I liked it as a chill-out title, you know? There were no major challenges or real thought required, so it provided a good break from my real-world day. By the end of the game though, I'll admit I wished there were more missions because my ants were unstoppable. I didn't even lose a single ant out of my army of 2000 on any mission from like 50-100.
