I think it might be because I left my wii on to long. But recently my Wii has been making weird noises. It will randomly stop and freeze during my game. ( mostly Golden Eye) and it sometimes wont read the disks, its a clicking noise, Any suggestions ?
My wii started making clicking noises after I sent it to nintendo for a repair where they replaced the drive. The noises don't seem to hurt it at all and it plays just fine, and I've heard that some people happen to have extremely noisy wiis so more than likely you shouldn't have to worry about the niose. As for freezing, Goldeneye has frozen for just about everyone including me, is it freezing on other games? And for the problem reading discs, it could be a dirty/scratched disc. If the disc is clean though it may be that your lens is dirty or your drive is wearing out.
I'm not a pro so these are just guess based on my experiances.
I have had my Wii since US launch day and mine has been making a noise for awhile now but it hasnt been freezing or not reading disc. I would suspect that your drive is about to go out but I am not 100%. You might want to call Nintendo or check out their site to see if there is anything you can do before you send it in.

Mine started to make weird noises a couple of months ago. It's only froze on me once (That I can recall) last week in Epic Mickey. Not that I have the money, but if it died, I'd buy a red Wii asap. _
Riskia: Mine's been back twice for exactly the same problem. Drive sounded like a bi-plane about to take off. Was described each time not very helpfully as 'intermittent drive fault'. Works a treat now though. Send it to Nintendo if under warranty, and even if not it's a cheapish repair.
Wasn't clicking noises, but my Wii was noisy as heck before....for some bizarre reason I thought this was normal so I tried to ignore until one day when playing Brawl. The Wii started getting louder for a couple of seconds and then came to a complete stop. The disc drive died....(no clue what happened, but Brawl came out unharmed, lol) It was creepy, but now its quiet as a mouse. (after sending it in for a repair of course)
I had a noisy Wii, and used the video Irken posted, combined with one of the many Wii dis-assembly vids available, and managed to fix both mine and a friends. You'll need a Tri-Wing and some patience, but it's worth it, mine sounds like new now. .
