Winter Games for C64 was a definite and knowing nostalgia buy for me on VC. I knew I'd only play it a couple of times and those few times were completely consumed with remembering playing the title with my folks when i was just a wee nipper.
Its really not a very good game and I couldn't recommend anyone buying it, it just filled a few hours for me one evening by helping me feel warm and fuzzy. As a secondary reason I try to buy as many C64 titles as possible in order to support what appears to be a dead format on VC. (although Nintendo themselves have confirmed to me that the system is still being supported, the lack of any new release since Last Ninja 3 tells a worrying story).
Link to the Past, Super Metriod, Punch Out, Castlevania III, Ninja Gaiden I + II, Shinobi, Rygar, Streets of Rage 2, Samurai Shodown, and Fatal Fury Special are all games I've enjoyed back in the day but (mostly) never owned.
TMNT on NES was my first NES game (one that I wish I could take back) and I'm strongly considering downloading Super Castlevania.

Kirby 64 and Super Smash Bros. Both games I rented once from Blockbusters and enjoyed immensely. Now if only the rest of my long-ago Blockbuster rentals would be released...
Earthworm Jim. I used to own Earthworm Jim for my PC a long time ago but I can't remember when! The PC version was the Special Edition of the game, which meant it had an extra level and CD quality music. I bought the Earthworm Jim on the Virtual Console because I knew it was good, I was a Earthworm Jim fan, I never played the original Genesis version before and I don't know what ever happened to my PC version.

Not as many as you might think. Ocarina of Time, Mario 64, Super Mario World, Super Metroid, Donkey Kong Country...and that's about it. Most of the games I buy are because A) I haven't played them or B) I lost/broke the original carteridge
