Couldn't STAND Secret of Mana or PSIV, because of their archaic battle systems. I'm much too spoiled by the likes of Tales of Symphonia, Fire Emblem, and Paper Mario.

I got Secret of Mana. I don't regret it, but I also don't worship it. The game play is pretty boring, and it's not worth playing single-player. I find almost anything fun with friends though, so it's a decent game for that.

Come on, friends,
To the bear arcades again.

Chrono_Cross

I`d have to say the original Mega Man and Kirby`s Dream Land 3
Both great well-known series but these titles are NO exceptions especially when compared to other titles of these series

Just for you.

I regret buying Super Mario World but only because I don't have a classic controller yet. I didn't realize how difficult it would be using the gamecube controller.

I just regret buying that one.

I regret Solomon's Key, it was one of the launch titles for the VC, it sounded interesting at the time and there wasn't a whole lot to choose from. It is complete and utter crap.
Same with Neotopia, everybody kept talking like it was a Zelda clone, so I thought would be at least half-way decent. Never been so bored out of my mind, even the music was bad.

I also didn't like 1080 Snowboarding half as much as everyone else (even though I loved Snowboard Riot on WiiWare)....

You too, huh? I thought I was the only one! I was REALLY looking forward to its release as I had never played it before but always wanted to and it just didn't turn out as I had hoped. I'm going to try my best soon to get back into it now that I have the Classic Controller... Maybe I just need to spend more time with it.

Neutopia II and Bonk 3.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Let's see...

Lords of Thunder - probably the most controversial of my choices. It's a great game, but not for me. Plus it may be been a bad choice for my first shoot 'em up.
Street Gangs - not really much to explain about this game, just didn't like it for some reason
Pokemon Snap - it baffles me why I bought this. I've always thought Pokemon Snap was a great game, but I broke my own rule when buying this. The rule being not to buy a game which I already own and can easily play. I bought it because of the Photo Channel feature which isn't particually exciting.
Super Punch Out!! - loved the NES game but I don't think this one is anywhere near as good.
Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa - a decent platformer but very fustrating.

Bonk - Not nearly as fun as it looked in the TG16 demos I saw as a kid.
DKC2 - I really enjoyed the first DKC back in the day. But the sequel is... lacking.
Yoshi's Story - What was I thinking. This game is not fun in the slightest.
SMB2: Lost Levels - This game is ****ing HARD. To the point where it stops being fun.

That's about it. The good news is that the rest of the games I've purchased are quite good. So IMHO, I'm ahead of the game.

Yeah, I rented Yoshi's Story back then, what a disappointment! XD

Not a TERRIBLE game, and yes it's not "really" six levels long, but good god, it has NOTHING on Yoshi's Island. Bonk is pretty fun, I don't like DKC, and Lost Levels is badass.

I don't have a lot of regrets. I haven't bought anything I haven't played before. My friend bought Harvest Moon though, and I never play that (sorry, I prefer the PSX game). Kirby's Dream Course gets kind of old quickly, and Alien Soldier isn't Treasure's best IMO. River City Ransom can become just plain annoying when you're playing with the wrong person, that's the problem when you add free exploration to a 2P beat 'em up.

Overall though, my Wii has some real class loaded onto it. The essentials (SMB3, Super Metroid, Castlevania III, Bubble Bobble, Bomberman '93, Ys Book I & II), and the imports (Puyo Puyo 2, Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa, Do Re Mi Fantasy, Sin & Punishment, Lost Levels, and Alien Soldier). The fun thing is, all of those imports (aside from maybe Alien Soldier, which I played only a few times) were regular favorites that I always wanted to own for years. Cool!

I got Ordyne and the first version of Street Fighter 2. Sigh 14 bucks down the drain.

There's a few:

Elevator Action: It's not bad. I just never really play it. It's kinda dull.

Legend of Mystical Ninja: For a game that has so much humor, it really lacks fun gameplay. It gets derivative.

R-Type: Honestly, It's one of the most difficult games I've ever played, and I've beaten Ghosts 'N Goblins and Milon's Secret Castle. I'll probably love the game once I beat it. For now, it drives me insane.

Kirby's Dream Course: It's just not that fun.

Toejam & Earl: I loved it as a kid. It just isn't as fun now. Probably because I don't play it with a friend anymore. I'm sure that makes all the difference.

Blue's Journey: Man, I got burnt on this purchase. Despite what all the reviewers were telling me, I bought it anyways. Bad idea.

Saddler, YOU"RE small time!

Adam

About TJ&E: Yes, playing with a friend makes all the difference. The game is essentially just a bunch of walking around. Alone, that is boring; with a friend, you've got lots of wacky stuff to laugh at and talk about as you walk around and uncover more of your map.

Come on, friends,
To the bear arcades again.

Lets see:
Secret of Mana (downloaded due to hype), Super Mario RPG (downloaded due to hype), Probotector 2 (downloaded due to 500 points left over after region swap), Last Ninja 3 (love the first level... but game is broken)

Admittedly, I don't really regret downloading these... I just didn't enjoy them as much as I thought I would have.
