About TJ&E: Yes, playing with a friend makes all the difference. The game is essentially just a bunch of walking around. Alone, that is boring; with a friend, you've got lots of wacky stuff to laugh at and talk about as you walk around and uncover more of your map.

I bought the cart 2 years ago because of the reputation. I played it with a friend, and we both got bored after a little while. The game was wacky back in the days, but I don´t think it is worth buying today.

Neutopia- it's not really that bad of a game, but playing it after having finshed LoZ - Link to the Past, it didn't seem that great.

Oh, where do i begin...
Cocoto fishing master = utter crapness
Sin and punishment = aching hands, shitty controls, bad voice acting
2 pieces of strong bad = hype, fun for 5 minutes
Secret of mana = boring alone, to hard alone???
comix zone = ugly, boring...
Boulder dash = ugly as sin...
Castlevania 4 = classic? more like trash it...
A whole lot of lost cash forever.... sigh*

Old Nintendofan from up north...

DKC2 - I really enjoyed the first DKC back in the day. But the sequel is... lacking.
Yoshi's Story - What was I thinking. This game is not fun in the slightest.

I'm in 100% agreeance with these two. Also,
Wonder Boy (original) - darn that nostalgia... never as good as what I remember
SMRPG - darn the hype... would have been ok if my expectations weren't so high.

So I'm happy with about 76% of my library... pretty good I think.

Glad to see I'm not alone in that. I think there's only four VC games I don't have on my system any more and one of those (Bubble Bobble NES) is because it's just superfluous thanks to the new WiiWare version ticking all the boxes.

I also regret getting Dungeon Explorer, I just wanted an RPG that I had never played before, but it just didn't interest me once I started playing it, also Gunstar Heroes I shouldn't have really bought it at all, since those kinds of shoot em ups have never been my kind of genre to begin with, also Sim City it was ok but I wished I 'd saved those points for something else, as for Neutopia I think its pretty good, if you want a Zelda 1 clone it does that quite well, however if you expect something along the lines of a Link to the Past you are likely to be disappointed.

My picks might seem the strangest evar, but I only dl´ed 11 VC games so far and I always try to pick top quality.

Mega Man 2 - dont get me wrong, its the horrible PAL translation that destroys the experiance. MM3 runs perfectly fine.

The Legend of Zelda - never played it back then (first Zelda game was Links Awakening) and really seems very primitve and hard to me. The old GB version seems to be a whole generation ahead. I had to force me severel times to play it. Hanging around in Ganons dungeon now...

Super Mario Bros. - got it for nostalgia, but like in New Super Mario Bros. , I get bored with the gameplay. If I need my Mario fix I rather start SMB3 or even SMB2 than this.

Super Mario Bros - Annoying music and ugly graphics and it's repetive.
Super Mario Bros: The lost levels - Annoying music and ugly graphics, and it's way too hard.
Donkey Kong Country - TERRIBLE controls, frustrating and the saving is stupid!

I regret purchasing Galaga, I thought it would be fun... I was wrong.
I also regret getting Ninja Combat, It's a horrible game but a great game to laugh at. My girlfriend and I spent hours in pain from laughing and from enduring such a crappy game.

Galaga 90 is amazing. If you liked anything about the original, look it up; it might be better for you.

Come on, friends,
To the bear arcades again.

Kirby's Adventure. Unmemorable levels and repetitive. Super C was a bit of a letdown - the topview levels are horrible.

You crazy! Kirby's Adventure is my favorite Kirby game, and it's still so much fun to work through again. I haven't found all of the secret exits yet, so many years later.

I respect your opinion, of course. But it's funny how differently two people can see the same game.

Oh, i thought i was the only one who regretted downloading Secret of Mana.

Lets see:
Secret of Mana (downloaded due to hype),

I wish I had come here before buying SoM. It tops my list of games I regret buying, yet prior to spending the points, all I could find was positive reviews. I spent about a half hour on this waste of time, and went away feeling completely ripped-off. I wanted an RPG for SNES that I had never played before, and now wish I had just spent the points on a tried-and-true favorite, like A Link to the Past or Mario RPG.

Other games I regret:

Gunstar Heroes - It was between this and Metal Slug, and I went with the cheaper of the two. Now I wish I had just spent the extra dollar and gotten a shooter that I would have had fun with.

Streets of Rage III - Wanted a side-scrolling brawler; it was between this and a game that I know I like, Final Fight. I went with the one I hadn't played before, but ended up disappointed by how slow everything moved and how little fun there was to be had. This game along with the two listed above are why I no longer buy VC games that I'm not familiar with. It's hard to know a good game from one that's remembered fondly just by reading reviews.

Super Mario 64 - I had just come off of finishing and thoroughly enjoying Super Mario Galaxy, and wanted to continue my 3D Mario adventures. Though I had a 64 back in the day, I hadn't even touched SM64. I was far too busy playing Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, and WCW/WWF games to care about going out of my way to purchase a game that should have been a pack-in with my console. Now that I've played it, it's not a bad game by any means, I just haven't had the desire to go through it. It cost me 1000 pts., and I've played it for maybe 20 total minutes. I would have rather saved the points to use toward the 300th North American VC release, LoZ: Majora's Mask.

I kinda regret buying Bonk 2. It was good and all, but it felt like I was playing the first game. Eat meat to power up, collect smileys, fight four bosses and refight them in the final world. Again.

More than that though, I regret getting Kirby's Dream Land 3. Well, technically my little brother got it, so I regret not begging him to get something else. It really lacked the rhythm of other Kirby games. It felt sluggish, as if you had to slowly walk or stand perfectly still to avoid getting hurt. Other Kirby games featured copy abilities that allowed the player to skillfully cut through danger using dynamic moves that could be activated on the fly, but most of the attacks in this game bring Kirby to a dead stop. Also, Kirby's animal friends were surprisingly useless much of the time.

Super Turrican. This game was WAY too short and I really regret downloading it! It took me only an hour to beat it on hard difficulty! I didn't even realize that I was fighting the final boss but then the credits started rolling after I beat him. I was like "WHAT THE HELL, IS THAT IT?!". I thought maybe I was playing on easy difficulty and I got the bad ending but nope I definitely set it to hard. Very disappointing indeed. This game felt very incomplete to me. It's a shame too because the music, graphics and gameplay are good but the game still feels like a rushed job; there are only four bosses in the game and two of them are in the first stage! Too bad, I really wanted a good Turrican experience. I should have downloaded Super Turrican 2 or Mega Turrican instead of this.

Ok, a lot of these where bought in the early days of Wii, just cos buying old games was cool...

Ecco (i loved it back then, i hate it now)
Mario & Yoshi/Wario's Woods (oops)
Gunstar Heroes (believed the hype, but wasn't impressed)
Star Soldier (meh)
Super Mario 2 (the jap one, that's soo hard its not fun, oops died again)
Sonic the Hedgehog (because it's depressing I can't do the 1st level, as quick as i could when i was 14)

Before anyone gets offended, as a kid I would have loved them all, but time... well y'know.

Virtua Fighter 2, It was before games like Samurai Shodown, Super Street Fighter 2 and Eternal Champions were released and I was desperate for a fighting game. Wasn't impressed, it was just bland.
