Since people were posting in the WiiWare thread I thought I should make a thread for this. Share your personal experiences with each other as it may help those who are wondering if they should try maybe more obscure games.

Sin & Punishment, I only really bought to see if it was worth the 1200 points, and I didn't think it was, I know it has its fans but its just not my genre really, Mario & Yoshi and Warios Woods where pretty poor puzzle games and also Ninja Combat it wasn't terrible but 900 points was a bit steep for that game.

gunstar heroes. comparisons to contra 3 hooked me in. could have went my whole life without playing that trash. highly overrated, 6/10 at the very best.

I'm on a boat motherf****r take a look at me
Straight flowing on a boat on the deep blue sea
Busting five knots, wind whipping out my coat
You can't stop me motherf****r cause I'm on a boat

Cashman3000

World Sports Competition for the TG-16. Was looking for something similar to Track and Field from Konami. Man, was that game terrible. It didn't even make it back on my Wii with the recent SD card update....

That bad, huh? Thanks for sharing.

F-Zero X is probably the game I most regret downloading. I love the Mario Kart series but as a slightly more realistic racer I found it to be very generic, poorly presented and I hated the arcade feel to it.

Mario Kart 64 was very disappointing for me, especially without the time trial memory. I also didn't like 1080 Snowboarding half as much as everyone else (even though I loved Snowboard Riot on WiiWare), and I found Punch Out!! to be wayyyy to hard.

SMBSS

Kid Icarus because they took the password system

4. Wario's Woods
The boss battles were novel, but I was basically looking for a puzzler fix to hold me over until Tetris Attack was released. Still waiting on that, and Wario's Woods is totally not filling the void.

3. Space Harrier 2
Space Harrier for the SMS was one of my very favorite games as a tike, so this seemed like a no brainer, but somehow all the magic and life has been sucked from this crappy Genesis sequel.

2. Super Street Fighter 2: New Challengers
Street Fighter 2 Turbo was one of my most played SNES carts, but for some reason I felt compelled to download THIS version, thinking it would be cool to check out some new fighters. Well, besides the near retarded speed of fighting, all the tiny variations is character animations and voice acting drove me insane, and I ended up downloading SF2T about 10 minutes later.

1. Legend of the Mystical Ninja
OK, as a kid I always drooled over this game in the pages of Nintendo Power, but never once played it. It was one of the very first games I ever bought for the VC and to this day I have not had once ounce of fun with it. Easily one of the cheesiest, most obnoxious, and monotonous games I have ever played. Never ending streams of constantly regenerating stupid looking enemies, and one million shops that all sell a bunch of useless garbage. I hate this game.

@SMBSS: Really? I think Kid Icarus rocks! Honestly I've never used the password system, I start from the beginning every time.

Magician Lord (Neo Geo) and Dungeon Explorer (TGX-16): I regret downloading thses games. Magician Lord is only good for making fun of, because the translation is sooo bad. Dungeon Explorer is a lame version of Gauntlet.

Dynamite Headdy. I just can't get into it.

Sin and Punishment: Don't think I can go back to moving my cursor with a joystick since the Wii remote.
Pit Stop II: Wanted a C64 game and I know I used to own this but the controls suck (At least by today's standards).
Cocoto Master Fishing: Neither my 5 year old nor myself can land a fish, not a single one!
Family Table Tennis: Lousy game

Believe it or not, I regret dropping so many points on Super Metroid. I love the Prime games (and the hand-held ones!) but the original NES version was too loose and directionless to be much fun to me. I thought Super Metroid would have fixed that...but it didn't.

I know. I hate a classic. I need to be shot.

I know that some of you might scorne me for this, but I downloaded Axley (Axely?) and haven't gotten much enjoyment from it. The game looked great from the review and the video short, but I can't seem to get past level 1. Sorry, but this game isn't living up to what I thought it would be. Good thing I've always got Lords of Thunder to cheer me up.

I regret buying Moto Roader and Double Dungeons for the TG16. I bought them as early non-shmup releases but they really are bad. The time trial issue in MK64 put a real downer on it and I'm with anthonyb on the Magician Lord front. I have spent years listening to how amazing the Neo Geo is...and then I play Magician Lord!

Atlantis1982

I regret buying Dungeon Explorer, Bonks Adventures, and especially Beyond Oasis.

@Brutus: I actually have to agree with you on SM. I played through the game years ago, and enjoyed it. It's the least played game on my Wii at this point. I've had it a while and maybe played about 5 minutes. I wish the controls were similar to Contra 3...
