Well, I just found the red key, and now Ive determined that the next thing to do is beat the scuba boss, but hes pretty annoying, any tips?

I hate that boss so much. You're talking about the one completely underwater, I assume? I wasted my water of life on him. I don't even see how it's possible to avoid constantly taking damage in that fight. I'd say just go in at full health and take hits when necessary.

I've been interested in it ever since I've heard it being compared to Metroid. Is it worth it?

Yep, it is.
I usually describe it as SMB2 meets Metroid.

Definitely worth it.
I was doing really well last night but got destroyed and sent back to the beginning...but the graphics and music are so wonderful, I don't mind doing it again and again until I get it right.

Nope. He can't climb around ledges that are directly above him. Unless I'm still missing something.

He wasn't saying you need to use that ability on that screen. You need it to get to an area above that screen. You'll end up going around and coming out on the other side of that screen. I don't remember the exact path, but I think someone posted a map earlier which might help.

I finally managed to beat the underwater boss! For anyone having trouble, and easy way to beat him is to stomp on him at one side of the screen, swim to the other side, run into him, run past him, grab the head, turn and throw. It requires at least 50 health or so, but its much easier than trying to swim around him.
Now that I finally have every special attack and remembered where all the potions are, Ive got to go get the other 2 keys (and hopefully find the water of life on the way).

Sorry about the double post, but I reached the final boss and I really have no idea how to beat him... I tried hitting the gem on his chest with bop louies head, but nothing seemed to happen. I still have my water of life, so once I figure out his pattern it should be really easy.

One question in particular for the final boss, do you have to use all of your partners to win? Because if I know that itll be easier to come up with a strategy.

Oh, and Ive never really survived long enough to try and see if he has any other attacks besides the circle sweep and the stab-ish one. Does he have any other attacks at the start?

I think you can use any character for the final boss. And I'm pretty sure you've seen his only attacks.

Here's where you're going wrong though: you need to attack the little minion. Focus on him and you'll see where you need to go from there.

Well I beat it! I ended up using my water of life because I was low on health, but I beat him soon after that.
And like you guys said, BEST ENDING EVER!

Odd... its a lot faster in the VC version...

Yeah, the music is a lot faster in the VC version overall. Weird, isn't it?

Personally, I prefer the faster-paced version for gameplay accompaniment, but listening to the slower versions on youtube reveals them to be quite lovely.
