Heading to play it for the first time now. Be back with impressions later!

I'd appreciate that actually. Its coming to the EU on Xmas day.

I'm getting it tonight. I'll also try it out tonight if I can tear myself away from Super Smash Bros.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

The game's really good so far. Presentation looks a lot better. That's the first thing you'll notice once you start playing. Even the wheel spin movements look much better. There are 20+ unlockable podiums for players to collect that can be used with their online/offline avatars. There are more ways to play than the original: Classic Quiz, Face-Off (1-vs-1; essentially a mode of the "First to 5" final round), Hot Seat (like quiz Attack in the first one; as many questions as you can), and Last Man Standing (a new mode). Also, there are some new gameplay elements. For example, there are some types of questions previously not seen in the last title that spark back to the likes of Trivial Pursuit on the Wii, such as placing pegs on a map.

If you'll remember, in the first one, there was always a "Special event" where you'd receive a larger sum of points if you answered the next set of questions correctly. Now, though, if you answer one question correctly, then you'll get to choose a briefcase a la Deal or No Deal! 9 briefcases that each contain different things. Gems, Diamonds ($4,000), Bills with Jerry's face on it ($750) and more. It's a great new addition.

Online integration is great so far and it's handled great. You can drop out of a group anytime you like. Lag has creeped in once or twice but overall, it's well handled.

You can download additional questions from the server, as well. It requires 40 blocks at least. You can use these in your local quiz and, these questions could appear (guessing) in the online matches you have. There's a question creator you can use to create your own questions and send them to the TVSK2 servers for verification before they allow use of it. It's too bad you can't create questions offline and just use them without sending them online but it's still a great addition and it adds even more replay value to the game.

What else can I say? Hmmm... More than one person can go online from the same console, as well. Oh, and at the beginning of rounds, you can choose the question category and there's a good sense of variety. There's even a "Megamix" option.

I've come away pretty impressed so far. It's DEFINITELY worth the 800 Points. I'm still shocked it's priced less than the original since this one is a stronger package overall. If you loved the first one, there's no reason why you shouldn't get this.

Any other questions, let me know.

Ok, I was a fan of the first game but TV Show King 2 absolutely, without a doubt, blows it out of the water! The graphics and presentation have taken a huge leap for one. Plus, Jerry's mouth doesn't move all glitchy anymore. With the addition of more questions, new modes, online play, unlockables, and the ability to download new questions, this game is SO worth 8 bucks. I actually went back and played the first game just for shits and giggles after testing the sequal and I came away with a greater appreciation of the sequal and a realization that I will never play the prequal again! This game is awesome and for 2 bucks less than the first is a steal. Get it.

Oh yeah, definitely! I don't think anyone would deny that it's a huge step up when you compare it to the first one.

The first one got a 6, so do you think this one will get an 8?

Oh, definitely. So far, it's an 8.5/10 in my books, bordering on a 9.

@KnucklesSonic8: Can you enjoy this game on your own? It sounds really good what you're telling us so far, but I bet that it's only that fun when you've got more people to play with you, right?

Not necessarily. I'm still having fun just playing by myself. You'd have more fun playing by yourself here than you might have in the first one. You can create your own questions, participate in the normal quiz, see how many questions you can answer on your own in Hot Seat Mode, and go online against up to 4 people.

Oh, and by the way, I saw it mentioned on the TV Show King 2 game page that someone had hoped that you can opt to not use the wheel. And I'm happy to report that you can turn it off this time around!

Here's a vid of the Last Man Standing Mode during an online match. More vids on the way. I'm trying to experiment with quality and compression and stuffs right now...

I was a fan of the first one and I'd give that one an 80% like ONM did. This one sounds great. Can't wait for it.

It would be great to hear some additional opinions of this game. Thanks for the review and videos KS8. I'm almost convinced but would like to hear more feedback before I decide to buy...

thanks

KnucklesSonic8

No problem. What would you like to know about it?

Good question! Mainly just more positive reviews of the game...

I guess I do have a few questions: Are you seeing the same questions come up frequently?
One of the complaints I saw about the first game was that the questions were ridiculously easy. Are you finding that to be the case?
Is it easy to find players online or is there a long wait?

Thanks again.

Same questions: I have seen a couple, yes, but that was only online so that's not exactly accurate and like I said, only a small number. Keep in mind, the game has like, what is it, 8,000 questions I believe plus the additional Question packs. More than TVSK.

Ridiculously easy: Depends on the difficulty level. there are some challenging questions even on Easy asking about Sports trivia (which I'm bad at; who traded who in what year, type of thing). I have yet to try Genius difficulty.

Find players: Well, it'll be easier once EU gets the game but it can be hard at times depending on the mode and the difficulty you choose. I wouldn't worry too much though. I've played at least 5 online matches.

Thanks... it's 8 measley bucks. Don't know what I'm afraid of... I guess I don't want to buy a game that will disappoint me... like You, Me and the Cubes... hate that game... don't understand how it was reviewed so well.
