Choo choo! All aboard the Astrotrain! This game's on rails!

That is kinda depressing, are all 3 versions on-rails do you know? or just the wii? I was really looking forward to this but am not a particular fan of on-rail games

Well, thank god I own a 360 because that is atrocious. Me thinks some company didn't care about the Wii very much

For some reason this does not surprise me.

Transforming is also restricted to when the game forces you to do so. The video above shows a vehicle mode stage and a robot mode stage. You cannot transform at any point during either of these types of stages until you finish the stage and switch to the other style of gameplay.

On rails was a surprising gameplay choice, but I've been craving a on-rails shooter since I learned about Sin and Punishment 2 xD

This may satisfy that craving. Gameplay graphics look okay too. Not too stylized, and just a tad gritty.

This actually looks like fun. Probably rent it sometime. :3

I'll get it when it's cheap, it just really doesn't look that good. I think I'll enjoy my 360 version more.

It actually looks pretty good. Does anyone know if it is identical to the 360/PS3 version. I would love to have a separate game for the Wii using the strengths of the system like Ubisoft did with Avatar and Prince of Persia. If it is the same game however I will just stick with the 360.

It is not identical to the HD versions.

The HD system version allows you to transform at will and control where you go, the Wii version is on rails (like the Wii Dead Space game and the Resident Evil Chronicle games) and has specific points that allows you to enter either robot or alt mode. I doubt the Wii version has the online MP like the HD version (for what multiplayer is worth).

Basically it seems like they shoehorned the story into a dumbed down version of the game.

I'll probably get the Wii version when it hits >$20. It looks like it would be fun for a couple of hours but then just sit there. Now I just have to wait for Gamestop to open so I can get my copy for my 360.

Yep. I played the 360 demo and it was quite good, since the PC, PS3 and 360 versions are basically the same.

What they need to do is make a Transformers MMO, now, I don't care for MMOs anyway. But if they made one I may try it out, if they don't screw things up. I could see it being big though...sigh if only I could make it happen. xD

Of course the Wii version gets butchered.

Anyone tried the Wii version? If so, disappointed or surprised?
