We don't know that yet. There could be more secret endings or extras that we don't know about. For Goodness sake, the game was just confirmed a day ago! No need to jump to conclusions yet

No. The game is quite old now and any significant changes would have been made for the WiiWare version, not the DSiWare version. The WiiWare version was quite a large undertaking by Nicalis, considering the translation, redone graphics and remixed music. WiiWare also has a bigger and more prominent market so it would make far more sense to make changes for that version.

Knowing Pixel and his perfectionist streak, he wouldn't be happy about any unapproved changes either. The Nintendo Week interviews with Nicalis also showed they had great respect for the original material so I don't think they'd risk defaming it by making any changes to it either. New endings or stories are pretty much out of the question. NL's article mentions that Pixel played through the DSiWare version already so that means it's basically complete already.

I expect the DSiWare game to essentially be a port of the WiiWare version, considering how short the development time was. It is also probably without the WiiWare version's graphical updates due to the DSi's smaller screen.

It would be jumping to conclusions to say that there will be anything significantly new about the DSiWare version.

I am more interested in Night than a Cave Story sequel, to be honest.

Insta-purchase if it's true.

I'm definitely buying again!

I'm going to call everyone who buys a (free) game twice a sucker. There's nothing new or different about the DSiWare version. In fact it'll be far lower-res than the WiiWare version. Enjoy your lighter wallet.

It's a classic, it doesn't matter. I bought the WiiWare version for Cave Story on a TV, I'll buy the DSi version for Cave Story on the go, and both give a genius some money.

How many times have you bought SMB?

@Popyman Twice. First on the NES back in the day, second was the GB Deluxe version (which I think was actually a birthday present anyway). The Deluxe version had save files which is something I had wanted since I played the original (my cousin finished the game by leaving his NES on for like a month), not to mention a whole host of extras. So that was definitely a worthy purchase.

Of course Cave Story is a good game and Pixel deserves respect for it. I played it on PC and finished it on WiiWare, so don't think I'm not a fan. It's really your choice whether you want to buy it more than once. I just don't think the DSiWare version is enough to warrant paying for it again, classic or not. Unless the portable aspect of it is a big factor for you, in which case I'd understand.
