I got 2 explications: the Wii don't got so good memory, hard driver, graphic memory etc than other consoles, because that is the Wii smaller. OR: the Wii got better and smaller tecnology, making it a smaller and more apropiated console.

... no, seriously -- with proprietary technology, they can create the outer shell almost however they like, and then fit the components inside to match. i'd imagine whatever's going on inside had little to nothing to do with the size of the Wii, other than that they could realistically fit everything they needed for it to work its magic into such a tiny, perfect little shape. i really dig the minimalist thing, lol.

This is ridiculous, everyone knows that leprechauns are really small.

that said, i think ravage meant something along the lines of the Wii being just a leprechaun in a box or something. which would make a lot of sense, actually

Well it's true the Wii doesn't have as much memory but that has nothing to do with it, probably. Nowadays alot of memory can be stored in a small space.
Just look at the new 360 Slim. 250 GB of memory and it's pretty small itself.

It's advanced versions of old technology. The other systems are larger because they need room for larger, newer chips and space to cool them (the reason the original PS3 was so much bigger than 360, but also didn't overheat so damn often). After all, the slim versions of those machines only came out after they'd worked on the chips to make them smaller and cooler. The Wii has old tech that's already been shrunk way down and made to run cool, so it doesn't NEED all that space to run. 3DS looks to be similar, using a GPU from 2006. Of course, handhelds have traditionally used weaker tech so that it can fit into such a small casing.

The Wii is smaller because it is basically a faster Gamecube which was already small. The processor doesn't get mind melting hot so it doesn't need as much ventilation and the components can be smaller because of improved technology. Still even so Nintendo has made a special effort to make their past two systems quite small.
Look at the new Mac Mini it's roughly the same size as the Wii though more square, way more memory, a much more powerful processor, technically more powerful graphics, and no need for an external power brick.
So they spent my Wii points on Sexy Poker............

The Wii uses older simpler technology that is easier to fit into a smaller space. So, with that they were able to make the wii smaller and cheaper than the competition and focus more on new ways to play than pure hardware power. The xbox 360 and especially the ps3 were working with newer technology so their original versions of the systems were much bigger and more expensive. The revisions were smaller and less expensive as they were able to optimize things.
Actually it's that small because Iwata can't do inches and feet right, when he called to order the boxes for the Wii they came back a fraction of what he intended. To save face, he ordered the Wii to be made smaller to fit inside the boxes. It was supposed to be the size two PS3's, but because of the change in size they had to remove some features such as the ice cream dispenser, snow cone maker, pleasure bot and money printer. Obviously they kept the pleasure bot and the money printer on the Wii at Nintendo HQ.
