The problem with it, and I think HVS actually mentioned it recently, is that for the most part they tried recreating real places and whilst they did a good job recreating them the real world is boring! The more imaginative parts were alright.
I've lost some confidence in HVS lately, I don't know what they're doing and I'm not sure if they do either.
It's sad too because The Conduit had potential, the sequel will most likely be multiplat with the HD versions getting the attention like the Grinder.

The conduit can be better but it depends on the development team. Halo could easily be made on wii,and look at Halo and Bungie who are passionate about Halo and the members working at Bungie. HVS need to be more passionate about there game, forget trying to create HD,just a good story, which potentialy they have and the multiplayer 16 player H alo style vehicals online. I think HVS had a deadline and knew that they were going to make a number two.
Why are people always talking about Halo like it was a good game. I mean, come one... i have never played through as boring and repetitive game as halo 1 was. I haven't tested the conduit, but if it's even worse than Halo, i wouldn't even spit on that direction.

Halo and The Conduit aren't really a good comparison to me, The Conduit is a corridor shooter whereas Halo is more open spaces and the emphasis on vehicles.

@Faron People mainly talk about Halo because it's the game that really started the online gaming craze for consoles. And before you go on about something trying to defend your opinion, I'd actually like to see proof that you've played Halo. I have nothing against you, it's just that most people who say that they hate certain games on the internet haven't actually played the games in question. A backloggery page, a video of you playing Halo, anything that shows proof that you've played the game would be appreciated.

I got the original the day it came out and I can say its not the worst game in the world. It is just not great and I will not buy the hype again without renting their next product first. The first was merely an average game that borrowed a lot of its storyline from existing properties. If they make a second one and fix the loading into walls that would be plus, better storytelling and better level design then it might be worth it. They got a good engine that supports good graphics and controls.
If I remember correctly, with Halo you could drive around in vehicles and that was the really cool thing about it. Played it on the PC. Other than that, it wasn't anything special as a game.
So ends a saga older than time itself. The World's oldest and fiercest army has been led to victory, and a lost generation is delivered from its fear of extinction. As the sun sets over the field of conflict the dinosaurs disperse, hoping never to set foot in this place a...
Yeah, I don't know whats going on at High Voltage either. They have some good engine tech but could have worked out bugs better and have better designers and artists.
Besides Hunter they hadn't really been established as a quality developer and mostly did licensed crap or low quality wiiware. The conduit was their first high profile project and was done completely independently so you could cut them some slack and hope for better in the future. However, they don't seem to know what to do after the conduit as they have completely changed 2 of their current projects seemingly in a bad way. The grinder initially looked awesome now it looks pretty low rent. Gladiator AD seemed like it was going to be bushido blade updated and in a different setting now it looks like some cheesy fighting game that came out on ps1. And where is Animales de la Muerte? It looked really fun and original and I've heard nothing about it in a while. The grinder now has the same view as it so I'm wondering if they are just gonna make that game now instead.
They had promise and the conduit was pretty decent but I'm not expecting much from them anymore.
With halo its mass market but alot of kids play it and about shooting aliens and traveling the stars. call of duty how ever is about shooting other human beings and will always carry a stigma, although very popular and overrated. The conduit 2 could be better i think with the 3DS as a gizmo for unlocking,3D hologram radar, hacker(disabling security devices)and so on,downloading from DS Ware?
