Am I the only one that wants Target Toss to get an EU/AU release??? Australia specifically. I emailed the developers but never got a response... What are the chances of it ever being released???
I'm Andy Kniaz from IT. We didn't bring Bags to the EU/AU market because we felt there was a lack of familiarity with the game. Similar to seeing a Trugo WiiWare title outside of AU or even Melbourne we didn't know if it would have appeal to people outisde of a specific area. At the time we didn't know if people would respond to it outside of the midwestern part of the U.S. If you think we are missing out feel free to let me know. We will be releasing more games and value the input of players in and outside the U.S. - Thanks.
Target Toss or Bean Bag toss and its many variations is played all over the world. It is frequently played for school sports in Australia. Beyond that it is really a pick up and play kinda game. The idea is simple, you can explain how to play to someone in a single sentence so even areas that its not commonly played it has potential appeal. I was really looking forward to a game I could enjoy over a few beers with a bunch of mates around. Much in the same way I've played Golden Tee over a few beers at the pub. I don't know if Target Toss has had any arcade release in Australia but I'm sure it could have success. Unlike Golden Tee which you really need to be a golfer to enjoy, anyone can pick up and play Target Toss. Trugo is a pretty obscure example to make your point and it certainly isn't played in school sports all over the world and it definitely can't be explained in a single sentence therefore doesn't have simple pick up and play appeal. I know its unlikely you will seriously reconsider the EU/AU release unless people show sufficient demand for it so I hope anybody else out there who wants Target Toss will add their own comments and reasons. Perhaps a re-release or Target Toss 2 with motion plus! Or the Combo with Lawn Darts. Or just release the current version, I'll be first in line to buy it Anyways thanks for your response and I hope you will reconsider the EU/AU release. Cheers
I have to say Target Toss Bags doesn't really need motion plus. The motion sensing is actually really good already.
I really like this game and even gave it to someone as a gift once. It makes me sad that some parts of the world may never get to play it as it is still my preferred party game.
Hey thanks for your support Gabbo, now I just need to convince the developers... Out of interest, did you buy the game because you were a big cornhole fan, or did you buy the game because it looked like an easily accessible, fun party game? Anybody else wants Target Toss released??? Maybe if there is good support for Carnival King (which also looks very cool) in EU/AU, Incredible Technologies might reconsider releasing Target Toss?
Ahhh... Good reason. Retrospectively knowing that it is now your preferred party game do you think it should have scored better than 6? It always seemed a little harsh particularly when the review seemed to praise the game. The average user review on metacritics is 9.8 (granted only on 6 votes) and I doubt that many people will be getting the same replay value 6 months down the track out of many higher scoring games such as Goo or Nyx. Just on a side note with the motion plus, I haven't experience how good the controls are with Target Toss, but I see you have reviewed Tiger 10 recently. Tiger 10 plays well without M+ but the experience is much improved with it. Do you think it would be the same at all with Target Toss?
Actually, I found Tiger Woods to be atrocious without the motion plus. But mimicking a golf club swing is just more complex than tossing a bean bag. Right now Toss Pro Bags feels right as it is and so it's good enough.
I wouldn't put too much faith in user scores as I doubt too many people take the time to vote on a game they consider a 6. They either love it and give it a 10, or hate it and give it a 1. Retrospectively I might give this game a 7, as I commented after the review. But at the time the score seemed appropriate. Keep in mind that a 6 is not a bad score here like on certain other sites. Here a score as low as 5 is still 'average'. A six just means it's 'not bad' but definitely not for everyone and left a lot of room for improvement. And I still think that's true.
