Hey guys real quick, I want to know what the best SanDisk memory card for my wii is, bang for my buck. And what's the biggest capacity the wii supports, 4GB?
I've tried doing research but some market the cards and sometimes they can't even be used by wii if I read correctly. Any help, thanks.

Wiis support SD and SDHC cards with Wii Menu update 4.0. 4GB is the largest standard SD card size. 32GB is the largest official SDHC card size. The price rises exponentially as the card's storage capacity grows, so find one that works for your budget.
If you have been updating your Wii regularly (have at least 4.0 firmware-you can check in your system settings), you can use any SD card up to 2GB and SDHC cards up to 32GB (I've never seen a non SDHC card larger than 2GB, but that's what the Nintendo site says).
I use a 4GB SanDisk SDHD card on mine, and I doubt I'll ever fill it, but I don't download many games, and the ones I do get are mostly VC games which tend to be smaller. I have no problems with it. It's also nice to have backups of my save files.

See I'm worried because I only have 20 blocks left and couldn't even download one of the demos because apparently I didn't have enough space and I have Darkside Chronicles sitting here and I don't know if that will eat up the remaining blocks or not.

Once you have an SD card, you can move the wiiware/vc games on ur wii to it. You can even download demos/wiiware/vc directly to the sd card from the shop channel
I use a 4GB SDHC card for both my Wii and DSi. The WiiWare size limit is 40MB so I'm able to have loads of games, it's nowhere near full yet.
Also you can just move and leave all your games on your SD card because you can launch games straight from it. That frees up your Wii's internal storage for game saves.
I went with 8 GB and wish I hadn't wasted money on one that big. With enough money, I could probably fit every VC and WiiWare game in existance on my card with quite a bit of room left over.
By the way, mine is from SanDisk (whose compatibility I checked before buying it), so that brand will work, but not all brands are guarenteed by Nintendo to work.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.
@TokenGirl That's actually the definition of SDHC- HC stands for High Capacity. I think they added that title to keep people from using incompatible cards.
Each GB of card capacity can hold approximately 8000 Wii blocks. And the maximum size of a WiiWare game is currently 320 Wii blocks. Virtual Console games are smaller.
Yes, I know that. Apparently they do make non-HC SD cards up to 4GB. However, the Nintendo site only guarantees that it will support regular SD cards up to 2GB. Any bigger than that, and you want to just double check your card is a High Capacity card.

It helpful for Wiiware games but, I haven't gott'n a New Wiiware game since......My life as a Dark Lord.....

I'll echo the others on saying 4GB is the biggest size practical you could need - depending on what you play. I think the newer Rock Band/Guitar Hero games will download DLC direct to card, in which case I could see having a bigger card if you buy tons of music. If it's just for WiiWare/VC then even 2GB might be enough (that's what I have in my PAL Wii and I've got 10000 blocks free).
I figure my Japanese Wii will run out of pages in the SD channel before I run out of space!
You can always copy the channels and savestates from your SD-Card to your computer's harddisk if you need more space. All you need for this is a standard card reader. I have all WiiWare and Virtual Console games on my computer's harddisk. I Only copy them to SD-Card when needed.
@Zaphod_Beeblebrox I'm pretty sure there are larger VC games than that. I believe Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask were two of them.
Also, if you have an SD/SDHC reader, you can always format the card on your computer. Regular SD cards are formatted as FAT and SDHC cards are formatted as FAT32. This might be helpful to those who can't save their Rockband songs on SDHC cards.
Finally, when buying a card for the Wii, don't worry about card's class (card transfer rate). Class 2 is as fast as the Wii can keep up with. Last year, I upgraded my 2GB Class 2 card to an 8GB Class 6, and regret not getting a 16GB Class 2 one. There is no difference in loading times when loading games from the SD Menu.
