Topic: Releases that co-ordinate with special occasions

Remember how Zombies Ate My Neighbors came out on Halloween? That seemed appropriate. What other special occasions could potentially garner related games?

350th game- Kirby Super Star
March- Mega Man 4-7
September 20- Castle of Illusion
September 27- The Magical Quest
October 18- Bomberman
Halloween- Decap Attack
Christmas- Donkey Kong 64

On April Fools Day we could get
A.) Conker's Bad Fur Day
B.) A game that sucks/nobody cares about

On April Fools Day, we could get something that doesn't exist, then release something awesome.

April Fools Day: Cave Story release

April Fool's Day is a Thursday, so nothing that day for N/A.

Wouldn't they do something like that on April Fools Day? Messing with the schedule would be totally unexpected.

Maybe nothing on March 29, and then a whole new system on the 1st! Bring on the Saturn!

Certainly the Saturn can't be any more complex than the N64.

@StarFox: You're kidding, right? The Saturn was a developer's worst nightmare! Emulating it would be no easy task I assure you!

Not to mention the fact they're CD games (some games multiple CDs) means storage problems.
(as I understand, TGCD games are possible because most of the space is audio, which is easily compressible)

@King - you're right.

And yeah--I'd write off Saturn Emulation til at least the next generation...you need a semi-decent PC to get good results, and I don't think anyone can be deluded into thinking the Wii is even close to comparable. Having 3 games fill up the entirety of a 2g SD wouldn't be too great either...

I think Mega Man 4 will be coming out soon because of 10, yeah. Not sure about the others. I'm also betting that Kirby Super Star will be the 350th release and later this year is the 25th anniversary of the original Super Mario Bros. so maybe we'll see a VC title that celebrates that. Either Super Mario All-Stars* or Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
