I know the review gave the game a 6/10, but after playing it I personally thinks its worth an 8/10 at least. The game feels very polished, and with a ton of extras I think it's definately worth the $50.
The Gameplay: The game is mostly platforming, but it feels fresh because instead of just hopping from point A to point B, the Prince can do a bunch of cool acrobatic moves to help him reach far away ledges. For instance, if you hold down the A button while walking into a wall you walk ON the wall for short distances, which looks pretty sweet. There's also some combat, and I know some review's have criticized it, but I thought it was alright and a nice change in pace from the platforming. It's not just mindless waving of your sword; most of the enemies can block or evade certain attacks, so you have to figure out their weaknesses. There are special moves that you can unlock to help you in battles, but while they help keep things from getting stale, I was disapointed that there weren't too many of them, and that those that are there can all be unlocked during the first couple hours of the game. There are also some puzzles integrated into the game, and while they are mostly based on activating a switch or something, there were a few that were pretty clever.
Extras: The game has the original NES game, but I haven't tried it yet. Surprisingly, when you open the case theres a pamphlet inside telling you exactly how to unlock it, which is kind of nice. You can also unlock character skins, different weapons, secret maps, developer diaries, and achievements, so there's a ton of replayability.
Anyways, I'm about three hours into the game, and it's pretty addicting. I'd recommend it to anybody whose a fan of Prince of Persia or wants a good adventure game to tide them over until the new Zelda game comes out.

I loved it. It still somehow isn't quite as good as the original SOT trilogy but it's a good game. Pity how it's being overlooked because so many people think it's a movie game. If you like the series you'll enjoy it.

I didn't buy it (yet) because of the rewind time feature missing. I am also one of those who loved warrior within: great levels, best combat by far (you could chop op enemies anyway you wanted real nicely) and brilliant soundtrack. The music was hardrock on complete persian scales and it worked wonders for the attitude and must get this confrontation done style atmosphere. I wonder, to this day, why I seem one of the few.

The original sands of time however, was brilliant in terms of atmosphere and felt more polished. Removing the feel of that game, removing the best feature I loved, the risk along with it, and the silent moments I know from the odd warrior within moments make me wonder why I should buy this. Still, I love the series, so I might pick it up for a tenner in a few months or so...
