Lieutenant Commander of the Lesbian Love Brigade
There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
...Whats wrong with it? Its some kind of RPG or adventure game. We don't have a lot of those on the Wii so it can't be that bad, right? The beginning apocalypse part looks pretty cool.
But it makes no difference, seeing as this will probably suffer the same fate as almost every other RPG on the Wii: parole in Japan. Xenoblade, you had better sail across the ocean...
The music is very Japanese and it shows the game's story is predominantly mysterious/emotional. I highly doubt they would use that track for promotion if it comes out in the west. It's just the music that turned you guys off right? I imagine the standard "epic orchestral movie soundtrack" type music would go over the same visuals just as well and would appeal to western audiences much more. But the trailer is produced for the Japanese and you can bet they will be intrigued.
I think it looks even more interesting than before. I like what was shown of the cutscenes and the battle system. It reminds me a bit of Baroque, actually. This is one to keep my eye on. The graphics are at times great (well, the pre-rendered cutscenes and the character models) but the environment textures are disappointingly low-res. I guess it's due to the Wii's hardware limitations.
Yeah, it's the music that makes it look kinda sleepy and gooy, but beside that it really looks promising to me.
Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...
Nice! Looks like my type of game! Another game I will have to hope get's it over here to Europe eventually... Then again Xenoblade finally did it, so it could happen.
Since this is a first-party title it's possible that Nintendo of Japan is trying to rebrand the Wii as a core/niche gamers' console, which is a very appealing idea. It makes sense due to the Wii being easy and low cost to develop for and having a wide install base. The 360 and PS3 have proven not to be ideal for these types of games (apart from their digital services), so niche titles tend to be relegated to the handhelds right now. Depending on how it turns out, Pandora's Tower could end up being a cult favourite like Shadow of the Colossus and, alongside Xenoblade and The Last Story, possibly breathe new life into the Wii by encouraging other devs to use the Wii to appeal to these types of gamers.
Plus it's always nice to see the rare occurrence of a new IP from Nintendo.
This is a brand new IP that we knew nothing about, and now after little more than 20 seconds of gameplay people are losing interest? I find it hard to like something I have no knowledge of, so my interest level had nowhere to go but up. The trailer doesn't shed much light, either, but that doesn't mean what we haven't seen will be bad.
This game looks pretty cool, plus its a new IP from Nintendo so hopefully it will be good. And also it would be nice to have some new female characters for the next smash bros game, but I do admit that music hurts my ears.
