That's kind of the point, as it's been said before. People who don't like this and the fact that the jobs are kind of boring are missing the point.

Shinobu and Destroyman were my favorite bosses. Badgirl was pretty awesome too. I never understood the deal with Holly Summers; she was one of my least favorites.

Well, I just collected loads of scorpions and filled some cars full of gas (my two favourite jobs). Then I went to Gold Town and went crazy on 100+ mofo's in a back alley. I got 300,000lb's and it took me ten minutes. Off to the next rank fight I go, which happens to be at the beach...

EDIT: btw, I'm collecting all the clothes and cards. I'll do it anyway, but is there something cool for doing so? Anyone know?

i need nmh2 baaaaad! D:

I was really annoyed that I seem to have missed a card on my first playthrough somehow. Hopefully I'll get them all on the second run. I'll echo Machu and say that I didn't actually try to unlock anything, if you enjoy the game (and don't blow all your bread on clothes) you won't even notice it. I would just make sure to keep a separate save at the end hint hint.

Because for that brief moment, you see a different Travis. She softened him and he seemed genuinely saddened when she blew her own head off. "Forgive me #6, I never meant to shame you."

I love the game. Yes, it isn't perfect by any means, it has plenty of flaws. But it gets so many things right that I can overlook those flaws with no problems at all. It's purely a fun game, in the old school sense.

See Madworld, on the other hand. At first glance, it should be just as good as No More Heroes, if not better, because there aren't any apparent flaws by looking from the outside. But then you start playing... and it's simply a repetitive, boring game. No More Heroes was also repetitive, yes, but it was never boring. The core mechanics were too good for it to become boring. With Madworld, on the other hand, I was begging for the game to end and it's only a ~6 hours game. No More Heroes is much longer and it never made me want to get to the end as soon as possible. I guess that's what happens when the imitation copies only the shallow aspects of the "parent" game (action beat-em-up, gratuit violence, cartoonish graphics and so on).

.

The point is for a chunk of the game to be incredibly boring? What an odd design choice.

@SeanAaron: I missed 2 cards, imagine how I felt...

Just buy it and the sequel because the next one is probably going to end being a God of War clone. Gameplay wise. Oh and hope for a New Play Control Killer 7.

I thought it was pretty funny myself, but different strokes and all that...

I don't think you get Suda at all...

That I will agree with, from experience with Suda, No More Heroes (or at least Travis) is dead. They will try something new becuase that is what they like to do. I played Killer 7 and loved it, I wish it had gotten a sequel but Suda went on to make even more unique little games like Contact and No More Heroes. They like to experiement and hate to copy so there is no way that were going to see No More Heroes: God of War edition. Also I desperately (Pun Intended, I Don't Give A Damn If You Laugh or not ) want to get the first No More Heroes at this point, but its not near by, but one of my friends knows where one is and is going to go through that area soon (I've Already Traded him a couple games on the promise he'll pick it up and he's reliable) so I'll be abale to give my own opinion on No More Heroes very soon. That is if I can stop playing it long enough to talk on here

Also Long Live SUDA!!

just GET IT, its a classic.

People will be playning it on emulators in the next decade. The history is genius, gameplay is fun, characters are amazing, Style is godly

I am going to get it, sometime with in the next month, I just have to hope no one else buy's the Bundle With Red Steel and No More Heroes my friend saw at that one Gamestop. Also emulators, I doubt that there are a lot of copies they could easily sell long before that and if they do use Emualtors shame on them

It has enough annoying moments, but the bosses make you forgive this game's flaws.

Well, my understanding of the man that goes by the moniker of Suda 51 is indeed questionable, but he has said that he wants No More Heroes to be a franchise. Also, he has at the very least hinted that any more games could go to other platforms and at the most no more for the Wii. Now "God of War clone" might have been a misstatement, influenced by the overuse of that phrase. I feel that if it moves to a more traditional console it could become a more traditional adventure game. Again this is gameplay wise. Who knows, No More Heroes 2 just might be ported to the XBOX 360 relatively soon.

I highly doubt Suda will allow No More Heroes 2 out of the Wii, I think the only reason they did the first one (In Japan Only People) is because they wondered if it was the Wii that sold bad or controls or something like that and another developer is actually porting it (Not Suda) so its probably just for curiosity's sake on Suda's part and if it flops (Which I'm almost certain of) then there is no way in hell Suda will release the sequel.........(Then Again Suda could find something worse than Hell )

No person who truly loves and cares for the Wii should turn down the next No More Heroes. If you'd rather us get more shovelware and crap minigame collections, go ahead. But otherwise, gotta get it. I loved the first one - fantastic gameplay with an awesome sense of humour - I don't think I've ever played a game that has so many pop-culture references and digs at other game genres within it.

its not curiosity who drives the market... its $$$$$$$$

By that logic you are saying that all Suda and No More Heroes's multiple publishers just want money yet, Ubisoft refuses to publish the port in the US, so not really. Plus why would they release it Japan besides the fact that their curious whether or not its just the Wii that doesn't have games that sell well!

I've heard the bike is hard to control, I'm wondering what the matter of opinion is on this.

SKTTR

the bike is a bit bulky, yes. but that doesn't matter much since it's only reason is to get from A to B faster.

Is there any chance you could explain yourself a little with that statement? To go along with that I'm wondering how big the open-world is in the game, I'd hate to travel 100 miles like GTA: SA to get to my objective.
