Topic: Not another family game!

I was looking at Nintendo World Report and found that the Family Game Series isn't over as I expected.

Apparently they're introducing new characters though, sister and grandpa. That's good, my sister doesn't like Sarah for some reason

Now they seem to be doing what'll probably be a Mario Kart ripoff. The Family series needs to stop.

Looks like I deduced correctly - things aren't over. So long as they do the following, I'll be hopeful for future entries: Stick to good DLC or include content from the start; have online play like in FCG (or if not, make up for it!); have a good amount of content like in FMG; stick to the good presentation in Family Tennis.

Why they should stop? Not every gamer like interactive movies or hardcore solitary ones.
If those game succeeded is because they are doing something good and customers like them.
If anybody doesn't want it, don't buy it then. That absurd paranoia is the one that should be stop, not diversity.

Yeah, clearly it's doing well. The series has come a long way and it's great to see them moving forward in many respects.

yea i hope they start DOING GOOD THEN A NEW WIIWARE GAME DEV that can compete with ninty and hudson or konami and capcom

The Family series has actually improved later into the services lifetime, so these new games will probably be better.

More like minigame fests need to stop. I still don't get how these almost random games are still getting made. If it's a "Uwe Boll" situation, then I kind see how this fad is still going on, but It's not, so I can't really wrap my head around why it's still happening.

Anyways, I don't really care for the "Family" series. It's the simple equivalent of non-Uwe Boll movies. Some are good while others are not so good.

Well, obviously otherwise they wouldn't have continue this far past Table Tennis. I'd wager Mini Golf was one of the most successful. And just because it gets good reviews with sub-par scores on here doesn't mean the game itself is universally bad and that it doesn't appeal to others. After all, those reviews were one person's opinion.

I bought Family Table Tennis and played it a few times before the rise of Wii Sports Resort Table Tennis with wiimotionplus. Besides that I haven't gotten anywhere near these games. I think they should have simply used Miis in their games tbh.

Family Table Tennis is the worst one, IMO. Plus, Mii support isn't freely available for all developers.

I'm mildly excited for this, actually. It'd be nice if they add online play, but I'm not keeping my hopes up.

It would've been confirmed by now. Which is a shame considering they implemented online in FCG but who knows, maybe they'll have DLC. I'd have to look into it but as it stands, the game is looking like it has potential.
