A few days ago I bought a Nintendo eShop Card worth 1600 Nintendo Points. I tried to register it into my Wii as usual and after selecting "REDEEM" there appears error 205568.
My Wii is connected to the Internet properly and it is properly connected with my Club Nintendo account. The points ballance does not exceed 10.000 Points.
I tried using the code several times, making sure that I didn't confuse any numbers and there still appears the same error. There are no problems with Internet connection, either.
Well, my location is set to United Kingdom and I live in Poland (the points were also purchased there). But with Poland set as location, it's impossible to get the Wii Shop Channel working. Is that the reason of the problem?
If so, then meh. Logic.
Remember MS with 360 since launch to like 2008? There was no online if you chose Poland as your location, so I guess that is a problem with Wii. I used visa and never had a problem with that. There is no Club Nintendo, so that's why it won't blend, I guess. That, and I found this
"Wii Points cards purchased in one region will not work on a Wii console from a different region", so I think I'm right on this one. Sorry you wasted money
Ahh. Still, it's boorish. It says on the card that it will work on Wii U, Wii and 3DS (in Polish of course).
I'm gonna put it up for an online auction. Shame on you, N!
Umm... Wii card only works on Wii and DSi, it can't be on Wii, WiiU and 3ds, because those two use actual money and not points. I think there is something with this card, because it's in Polish - I never saw one.
Yeah, something is wrong with the card itself. To my knowledge there are no cards that work for all those platforms at the same time. I too have set the location to UK while not living there and I've redeemed so many points I've lost count. Try contacting the people from whom you bought it and ask them to explain how the card works.
Edit: Hmmm, I've never seen a card like this one. Not sure what to advise. Maybe contact Nintendo support?
The receipt from the retailer says that this card can only be used with Wii U and 3DS. It's a shame the actual card lies.
I was so happy when I bought it, that I didn't even look at the receipt . Anyway, who would care if the card tells you that it's gonna work with your console?
They replied today, saying that due to high traffic there has been an issue creating Nintendo Network ID and that they resolved it now. But sadly, the problem is still persisting and the same error keeps appearing. I'll wait until the end of the week and if nothing happens, I'll make a call.
