Topic: New Wii Channels

I really wish nintendo would put out some new channels, the wii is getting kinda stale dont ya think. Personally I would like a facebook channel, so what do you guys want.

As long as they don't charge us for them why not

I can't admittedly think of any suggestions, but I love original ideas like the "Everybody votes channel" which I have been using for years now.
Wasen't there some talk about watching films on the Wii, a netflix channel or something?

Yea thats America only. A facebook channel I wouldn't find much use for, when I could easily use my computer, which is alot faster. I would LOVE Background downloading. A Music channel too perhaps.

I want the Wii No Ma channel. It could have really good potential here in America.

I don't understand why people want Facebook and Twitter on their TV (like 360 -- and many cable providers -- have now) as opposed to their computer or portable device.

Granted, i think Twitter is -- for the most part -- an idiotic and self-centered pastime (though it can have practical value), and Facebook i've barely used once i determined that all the girls i knew from high school are married, and will probably continue to barely use it until i've waited out at least a couple of those marriages. xD

I do want a Wii No Ma channel though. Or anything that will get me Game Center episodes!

I wouldn't mind some more channels but I'm kinda stumped as to what I'd reasonably expect to get for free.

In Japan they have a channel that allows you to order food from your Wii. I love the idea of that for some reason, I want it in the UK.

Hell yeah. I want a Perfect Pizza wii channel.

But actually, being serious, I believe there's a website that kind of houses all the takeaways available in areas that you can order online and stuff... well... it's a perfect thing for the 'family' market isn't it? Everyone sit on a couch and order junk food with a wii remote... and then burn off the calories with Wii Fit!

Why do we need it on a gaming system? I mean I didn't buy Wii to order pizza XD

I agree with others that I don't really see the point in channels you can do elsewhere... but that's the whole debate, isn't it? Every once in a while people want more stuff into the gaming console that doesn't have anything to do with games. I can see how those channels can be important for other people - not everyone has a regular access to a PC, not everyone wants to do things on different devices... so the channels have merit - it's just not for everyone.

I think Nintendo needs to maximize the SD cards potential. I'm not sure legally why Nintendo focuses on the ACC format instead of MP3's. It will be a great idea to have a music channel dedicated to MP3's instead of playing them through the pictures. Same for videos. Simple and something that was done pirately... Nintendo should do that first.

I can't think of any new channels I'd like either, but I do agree my Wii menu could do with some spicing up.

I bought the Wii for games so don't find it "stale" at all. Just in the last month there were a half dozen Virtual Console and WiiWare titles that look great. If you want a new channel, why not just download one of those and start gaming?

However, I need to say that (as a Canadian) I'm kind of jealous about one things: UK gets the cool BBC channel, and US gets NetFlix. While not necessary, it certainly would be nice to have some type of streaming media channel here too.

I would like a Wi-Fi communicator channel where you can talk with your friends or someone else, see what games there playing and exchange friend codes. Kinda like Xbox live. and i know this is similar to the Wii speak channel but still......

I would like more games to use wii channels like The Conduit 2.
Like MarioKart channel for freinds and online infomation but also customise characters,weapons,maps,sending messages to freinds and times for tournements.
Music channel,DLC.
Wiinoma.
DLC for manga anime series/film.
Clan message channel.
Nintendolife channel.
Mii profile channel,online stats,customisation,what games people are playing on..

I got mine about a week ago. I am shocked at how well it works and the video quality is actually pretty good.

I would love this. Why have Wii friend codes when you can't even see when they're online, or when they're playing a game? Instant messaging would be awesome too.

I´d like a leaderboard channel. It´s easily doable.
