Seems like a very puritanical sense of "perverted." That is what hot springs are like. It would be one thing if they had her naked and with oversized girlparts, but it's tastefully done and completely normal.

Did you watch the video? Did you see that girl with the oversized "girlparts" floating in front of her? This is no better than the nudity in GTA.

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

I don't know how nudity became so offensive. Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill...but for goodness sake, no nudity. Sigh. Oh well. I don't mean to offend or insult anyone.

Put your analyst on danger money, baby.

Oh, my screen is small. I didn't even notice the white girl-thing in there. I was just looking at the main character. But both are clothed. It's ridiculous, yes, but not a big deal. It isn't nudity by any rating standards. And it's not a significant part of the game. Like Zaphod, I don't understand how a game about murdering hundreds and hundreds of other people can only be offensive once it becomes "perverted" by showing part of a humanish body. Oh well, doesn't matter to me. I was just curious to see this video.

Come on, friends,

Its a Japanesse game what did you expect? This is like the Japanesse equivalent of a poolside scene or a beach scene. If you hadn't noticed already its pretty damn cold in Japan (so they have hot spas) and they aren't as up tight about nudity as "the western world" is. Hell, in Twilight Princess they even have hot spas with manly Gorons in nothing but loincloths but thats ok because they are dudes. Throw a woman in a spa and all of a sudden its OMG YOU CAN'T DO THAT ITS CORRUPTING THE CHILDREN. Its not like this is that "witch spot" hunting game they have in Japan on the DS.

sometimes I really hate Western culture

Do Gorons even have a gender? And they never wear clothes so it doesn't matter.

Awesome game so far! Glad I decided to get it. The GameStop poster thing is gorgeous, too. DELICIOUS Momohime..... drool

I beat the first boss and forged a couple of new swords, then decided to take a break for now from this and Prime 2. I tried the Wii Remote and Nunchuk first, and pressing up to jump takes a little while to get used to. I'll probably try the Classic Controller tomorrow to see if it's any different with the jump button.

Everyone get it! It's worth it for the artistic merits alone!

I completely agree with you Dezner! This game is excellent! I think that we are at the same spot too because I just beat the first boss with Momohime and decided to save afterward. I will continue playing it tomorrow but so far I am really impressed! Buy this game, it is definitely worth it!

We should make a Momohime Fan Club! :3

It's a fun game, I played for about 2-1/2 hours without realizing it. What do you guys think of the decision to leave the Japanese voice acting in?

The wall scroll is pretty but I wish I had space to hang it. I have too many movie posters.

The trailers unfortunately make it look like mindless hack and slash, yet you say it's somewhat complex. Can you explain? If combat is interesting, that is all I need to want it, but from what I read in other reviews (about to read IGN's), it's a bit of a let down.

There is some strategy in, but the "easy" mode you can just jump up and down while repeatedly pressing "A". There is a tutorial at the beginning that shows all the different moves you can do but I forgot most of them except for one. I'll try and do the tutorial again to learn the moves.

I love the fact that they left the Japanese voice acting in; the voice actors are great and it fits the game perfectly! I love my wall scroll but I decided to leave it in the package because I don't want to mess it up.

As long as there's a choice between the original Japanese and English, I don't mind. In the interest of this particular "niche" game and its quasi-unknown publisher, if hiring people for a dub would have broken their bank and meant they would lose money, I would rather just have the game as is.

Same with me on the wall scroll. I have nowhere to put it unless I hang it in the living room.

hahahah, I can't believe you're comparing bakunyuu hentai with legend of zelda. Well, if that's how you get your jollies, who am I to judge. Whatever does it for ya.

Way to skip Adam's post. He made an excellent point, how come a game that's about murdering hundreds of people only get offensive once a little bit of skin is revealed.

Save the moral panic until there's actual sex depicted and it's not rated accordingly.

@Firkraag - hypersexualised and objectified depictions of women and female children is not exactly comparable to ninjas dying.

I don't think she's even nude. The girls wrap towels around themselves.

I'd say the game is definitely for more mature people - definitely not people who find the human anatomy and Japanese culture offensive.

Nice strawman, correct me if i'm wrong but there's no naked children in the game. The 'nudity' in this game and Ninjas dying are both equally harmless.

edit; you never mentioned naked, but whatever. =P I stand by my second point.

@Firk - perhaps they're both as equally harmless - I don't have the data on that. But not both equally offensive. And why? Because they're very different things; there's no reason why they should evoke the same reaction in people. Comparing them with the idea in mind that if one is inoffensive, the other should be as well because they're both harmless doesn't make sense. It's like saying, "balloons are great, so why doesn't everyone like rabbits?"

What's offensive or not is of course purely individual, you're right. And comparing the two would be like apples and oranges. My point about equally harmless was that it's a video game, no need to get all upset about.

What I find offensive is that some like to argue a bit of skin is more offensive than taking somebody's life.
