Well I got my copy of Muramsa: The Demon Blade today at Gamestop and here are my thoughts: Well to start offf the game is so much more beautiful in real life, it truly is amazingly sounding and graphically beats almost anything I've seen. As I post I have the game on, but it's just the character standing in the wind and it truly is beautiful! Next up gameplay at first is a little complex, but after you get the hang of it, you will be slashing and hacking your way threw tons of randomly encountered enemies. It's a great game and the controls aren't that bad, its actually one of my top 10 Wii Games or even top 5 wii games. So if you have any questions on the game, just ask!
The trailers unfortunately make it look like mindless hack and slash, yet you say it's somewhat complex. Can you explain? If combat is interesting, that is all I need to want it, but from what I read in other reviews (about to read IGN's), it's a bit of a let down.
Adam: It depends on which difficulty and your own skill, most of the time the normal mode is just hack and slash, but now being able to try out the hard, your going to have to know when to block, use certain attacks at the right times, reflect projectiles, and constantly be avoiding enemy attacks, if your look for it to not be hack-n-slash, just play on hard and you will start to get some punishment!
is it supremely awesome and should i get it along with a wii for christmas?
Well. I will definetley reccomend it to anyone with a Wii and anyone buying a Wii, but if you get just one game, try something else, then get this one later, that is if they still are in print by Christmas, copies in Japan are actually very hard to come by
Oh let me clarify the Japanese Copies are hard to find part: In Japan after the game sold all of its shipped copies, they didn't make anymore, so becuase it is popular in Japan, it is hard to come by. So I don't know what might happen here in America, so if you want a copy, just in case you might want to get one now, just in case!
This wont be game of the year. But It could get Best graphics award overall I admit.... Sorry, but it is a good game, but not game of the year. Maye in your opinion, but not in the collective opinion of critics and users. It has too much to compete against. MPT is probably the best game on Wii ever and one of the best games ever on any platform. It can be disputed that it doesnt count though.... I think this game is starting to overhype. DO NOT HYPE. If you go buy it thinking its game of the year, youll be disapointed. But then again, Im judging from experiences with similar games, reviews and trailers. I think of getting it sometime, but Im keeping my expectations low. Not because it looks bad, but because then I might be suprised..... Anyways, how bout answering my question?
Metroid Prime Trilogy isn't a game but a collection of games. Not really fair to compare it to this, methinks, though any individual game off that disc would be fair game. I plan on renting Muramasa. Thanks for the response, Supermarioman!
I don't think it will be game of year, but it will win at least one award and I'm just pointing out that it is a good game. Oh Adam, Your Welcome, yeah a rental would probably be the best if your not sure about getting the game. Oh and to me it hasn't gotten boring yet!
Doesn't look very good to me, one reason is because the devs had to go perverted and add the part with the hot springs. I don't like hack and slash games much either.
The Game.
Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.
Seems like a very puritanical sense of "perverted." That is what hot springs are like. It would be one thing if they had her naked and with oversized girlparts, but it's tastefully done and completely normal.
