Should be picking this game up on my way home from work Can't waIt!!!! Then I've got two days off work, guess what I'll be doing!! Hopefully we can get some online going in the future too.Though i think I'll stick to the single player for a while ,i'm a complete noob to Monster Hunter

Dude, you're gonna love it. It takes about 5/7 hours before you realise what you're dealing with, but when you do, it feels gooood. You'll be glued to it for those two days off, enjoy! one warning... having to turn it off, is like being torn from the womb D:

I am currently addicted to the item box and combining, it's so deep it seems endless. I've saved myself loads of cash making things instead of buying them. Yay!

Sounds coool Machu man. I really can't wait till tonight.Seems like a game that requires some deep thought and I know just the stuff for that I can see a late one ahead!! Hopefully one day soon we can go hunting together!! Man U Clan FTW

What's this bit for again?

Machu

Yeah dude, lots of 'deep thought' required. Make proper preparations before a big hunt. I look forward to hearing you go 'wtf' later, and I'll see you online at the weekend maybe. Hooah!

Hey all. First off fantastic game!
Its my first time playing a game of the Monster Hunter franchise, so everything is new and I'm still finding out new ways to play the game!
Im uploading loads of videos of this game on youtube (giving CoD4 a well earned break!) so be sure to check em out! Also, search my Hunter name "Dazran" and lets hunt together! (assuming you are in the PAL territory)

Still farting about with the 1* quests in the Village at the moment, getting the hang of current weapons of choice and getting some kit together.

Serious push on tonight on the 1* quests and then TO THE CITY with me I reckon.

Plan on switching to the switch-axe(pardon the pun). From what I see, it`s a powerful weapon. I`m gonna lay off the lance for a while. Anyone got any tips for the great jaggi?

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, would you kindly?

Something I was thinking about with the ore and other resources...if you encounter them in the other lands, will they appear in the Woods? So I can obtain more of them so I can upgrade all my stuff for once without having to find a quest to get to that other land.

@BellGoRiing No, the items in Moga Woods are fixed. Later on, you'll get "gather" quests which allow you plenty of time to just go about the other areas gathering stuff.

Peco's not too bad, just anticipate his attacks and dodge and you'll be fine. Royal Ludroth is a little more challenging, but he's much easier on land IMO. Dodging is essential for both. I'd recommend using SnS or Lance so you can guard, but if you're not used to playing that way then it won't do you any good.

Your best bet is to learn to predict its most damaging move, which is the sideways dash/shoulder block. If you can evade that and its two tail whips, I reckon you should be made.

Good tip: when you see Great Jaggi drooling, it'll try to eat something so put down a Poison Meat (Raw Meat + Toadstool) or Tainted Meat (Raw Meat + Parashroom) and it'll gobble it up, then hack away!

I'll be online tonight, and my code is in my sig. I'll add Dazran and anyone else who wants to play. Let's do this mother!

Snap dude. It's on my mind when I'm out and about, when I'm talking to people, the real world feels like some cruel joke, just there to stop me doing what I want. But now... it's my time! I wonder how late I'll play till tonight. Woooh!

Question, just in case I feel like taking on another on of those boss quests again. How do you "mound a head"? I did it apparently on one of the monsters (can't remember which one though)...but I dunno how or what I did, lol. Oh, and does every boss monster get a pre-rendered movie? I unlocked Peco's, it was funny.

Aim for their head. Thats pretty much all there is to it.

Just for you.

I've just recently gotten to the level 5 missions in single-player. The monsters in these missions (Diablos, Barioth, etc.) are really tough. Has anyone else gotten this far? If so, I need some tips on how to beat them.

Does the Switch Axe get unlocked along with the longsword? I'm thinking one of those two will be my main weapon.
