As pathetic as this sounds I still can`t finish the fishing quest on Level 1. It`s so ridiculous and I can`t get those Goldenfishes! (I`m very impatient.)
Can anyone help? Give me some tips?

Just for you.

Crickets help. Tried that quest online. Very tricky because there is other types of fish. It REALLY helps to have goldenfish bait.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, would you kindly?

...Ugh, at the Queropeco (sp?) quest...was doing ok but...the freakin' dodo-bird thing calls in some Lathrion (sp?)! WTF?! T_T
So yeah...tips on that quest would be nice...and there's the fact that I'm having trouble upgrading my swords, so some of my attacks are being deflected by that dodo thing as well as the Royal Ludroth....

Play that quest online or get some good armor and weapons. It summoned a a great jaggi and we were like " WHAT THE HOW DID WHERE DID?!?!"

Does it count as it being completed in single player mode if i did it online? And I'm trying to upgrade armor (which I'm not able to do anymore even though I have a sphere. o_0) as well as weapons but I'm always missing resources...ones that I'm having trouble finding in the woods...

EDIT: ...Screw it I'll just get some music off of Youtube, still though...if anyone finds the soundtrack lemme know...the music in this game is awesome!

Your best way to catch Goldenfish is to bring loads of Firefly and Snakebee Larva (found in beehives) and combine them to make Goldenfish Bait. You can usually find them in Area 4. Good luck!

Is there a lot of waggle in this game? I just played Prince of Persia and hurt myself with the constant waggle.

Buy it bundled with the Classic Controller Pro and never waggle again.

I'm going to go on record here and say that I actually found remote controlling MH3 a lot less fiddly with remote and nunchuck than I did with the CC.

Yes, you can waggle to attack, if you want, but bashing the A button does that just as well.

Even using wiimote & nunchuk there isn't much waggle at all. In a fight you can choose to waggle or press A. When gathering resources you press A, unless you are holding something (weapon/torch) in which case a slight nunchuk waggle is used. All very subtle.

edit: I'm with the Amorous Badger. I bought the CC bundle yet chose to start with wiimote & nunchuk. Now I am comfy with the controls I doubt I'll change.

Also... I had told myself I wouldn't like the Bowgun. I was wrong!

@BellGoRiing The Qurupeco quest has an unstable environment, which means enemies which appear can change unexpectedly. The second time I did that quest, a Rathion turned up and pwned my whole team. The best thing you can do is run to a different area and wait for your target to move as well. Hopefully they will move to a different area from the other creature.

Also, online is completely separate from offline so quests done online don't count to offline and vice versa.

@Chrono Cross Goldenfish Bait will drive all fish away and a whole ton of Goldenfish and Small Goldenfish will turn up. You can't miss if you have it. I did that quest online and it took 4 of us around 45 minutes to catch 8 Goldenfish (we forgot to bring our Goldenfish Bait). Sheesh!

I too, am a big fan of the bowgun and sword and shield curiously.
I've tried the greatsword but it just feels ponderous where the bowgun feels pleasingly meaty.

I don't feel at all cruel whilst using a blade to kill. Stomping around blasting monsters with the Bowgun however, ha!:

Quick Question to anyone who can answer:... Can you go to the desert freely, or just through quests? I have only been there via a quest, and am wondering if I missed an instruction at some point. Thanks.

Later on, I believe Rank 3 quests in offline, you unlock quests that allow you to visit a zone without a goal in mind other than to gather. (You leave by completing a "gather" quest, which involves taking an item out of the supply box that appears 5 minutes into the quest and taking it to the red box.)

Just means they did a good job setting up the controls. :] I prefer the CCP though. I got used the the wiimote and nunchuck with the demo but the controller feels more natural here.
