I never said SEGA is forbidden to release a sonic game on Wiiware, Just pointing out the difference in succes between sonic and mario. Sonic is just a lame generic platform hero who runs and runs without doing any serious platforming. And now the game has such low standards that it appears on Wiiware. Why couldn't they make a great new 2D sonic on a disc just like New Super Mario Bros?

I take it you never really played a Sonic game for too long if at all, there's more to it than speed, the precision platforming, and crazy pinball physics make it an awesome series, wiiware is hardly a mark of trash, awesome games on wiiware, like Lost Winds 2, which looks & plays better than most disk based games, wiiware is the perfect place for Sonic IMO.

They could put it on disk, but then we'd have to wait until it was 100% complete, far better to split it up, that way we can play it earlier.

I think Sega couldn't take another flop on retail sonic, besides, this is supposed to be a call back to earlier sonic games which on a disc would span like a million levels... on second thought...

No, no, and no. The Sonic game are platformers, it is a combination of speed and platforming. Almost every 2D Sonic has serious platforming. Back in the day, the Genesis Sonic games were so awesome, that they even rivaled Mario's 2D platformers. Some of Sonic's new games are deftinely rubble, but there is a reason why he was so famous in the first place. Also, it makes more sense to release 2D platformers in a downloadable format. Would Mega Man 9 suceed in retail? Of course not. Nintendo just avoids putting their games on WiiWare so indie developers could have a chance with their games. But, almost every other video game company makes the wise decision and goes the downlaodable route.

I owned a genesis and a snes when I was a kid, and sonic was nothing more than an ok game, there wasn't a lot of platforming, even donkey kong country is way better.

No such thing as a better game really, only personal preference, I'd take 2D Sonic over 2D Mario anyday, and Banjo over 3D Mario, what is an ok game to some is a classic to others.

If they did 4 stages an episode that would be awesome! Any way I hate people moaning about the graphics and that sonic doesn't run fast enough. Just let Sega make a good Sonic game.

I don't mind them doing 4 stages an episode, as long as you can "lock" episodes on to each other so you can play the entire game without having to change channels. Also, I like the graphics. They're cel-shaded awesomeness.
