Topic: Is the Wii 'a big console'

I can think of numerous games a copy is not made for Wii. For example CoD 4:Modern Warfare was on the DS but not on Wii. Whenever anyone asks these game producers why it does not feature on the Wii many of them just say that they focus more on 'the big consoles' i.e. XBOX 360 and the PS3. Sure the graphics and performance are better on these consoles but the Wii introduced interactive and revolutionary controls such as the Wii Zapper, The Wii Wheel and of course the Wii Remote.

What do you think? is the Wii a 'big console'?

Also what games would you have loved to see on the Wii that were never made??

Since the Wii is the better selling console than the rest of them, I would say it is a big console.

I'd like to see an RPG that meets up to the standards of Oblivion and Dragon Age, those games were great. Not many RPGs on the Wii.

The Wii did not introduce those "revolutionary controls" you mentioned. The PS2 did that with the Playstation Eye.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

The Zapper and Wheel are absolutely not revolutionary. But what on earth does the Eye have to do with the Wii remote? It is not the same at all. You don't wave the Eye around (or in most cases, just shake it incessantly). As inaccurate as the Wii remote is, the Eye is worse and does not perform the same functions, at least not until the wand comes out.

I was assuming by "revolutionary controls" he meant motion controls. It doesn't matter how accurate they were, they were still motion controls.

He didn't say that the Wii was the only system to ever have "revolutionary" controls. That is completely subjective and a pointless assertion. And he didn't say it was the first to have motion controls. He was saying that it introduced specific controls which were revolutionary.

Two of his examples are ridiculously inaccurate, but the Wii remote itself is a first for home consoles: complete 3D control by waving around a remote. The Eye could not recognize three axes of movement, and the Power Glove and ROB hardly did anything they were supposed to do, which wasn't much to begin with.

You can't say "you're all wrong" if you have fundamentally misrepresented what he's said. "Revolutionary" is not a synonym for "any motion controller whatsoever, regardless of range of function or fidelity." It simply refers to something new that brings about change, and the extent of the remote's motion controls has definitely had an impact on the way we play games, whereas the commercial lightweights that were the Eye, Power Glove, etc. performed either different functions or very limited versions of what the Wii remote offers (i.e. one or two axes of movement), and none have had the impact that the Wii remote has had.

Not that that's necessarily a good thing... This damn propeller suit is going to shake my wrist off.

The zapper and wheel are simply plastic shells that make the Wii remote more comfortable to hold in certain positions. And I do think the Wi is a "big" console. Clearly it is the best selling. Developers who exclude the Wii when they release games have a certain target audience in mind and don't think it's worth it to publish on the Wii as well.

No, the Wii is a small console
It is Nintendo's smallest home console yet
And both the 360 and PStripple are bigger than the Wii (in size of course)
