Topic: Is it time for a new console?

i really dnt think it is time for a new system yet. ive only had minz for a lil ova a year
and i still think its more ideas they could gram out the wiis hardware

Im still lovin the wii since launch I only wish my DLC was transferable because its taken that much of a kicking that with a couple of games I end up having to take discs out and put them back in when it gets to parts it couldnt read properly. My little lads wii upstairs is still going strong though. Ive found that as less games are being released the quality is improving so much more and even though I have countless number of titles even after trading off any shovelware I had Im currently floating between two or three games at the mo. Monster Hunter Tri, The Conduit and Red Steel 2.

I can't decide if it would be scarier to hear what you bought to keep you from being bored or what lz does with the baby doll.

I read somewhere that Nintendo will the release there next console sometime after 2014

I can almost guarantee it won't take that long.

I think the Wii is far superior to the other consoles in almost every way, but for those only with an HDTV the non-HD is a problem... I see that now when I'm thinking about which TV to purchase. I think Nintendo should really release that Wii-HD (same exact console with HD output), and lift the Wiiware size, and then it's perfect.

I don't want any new consoles for the next few years. I have got so many games to play and ones coming out all the time that I wanna buy,plus all the VC,WW etc etc....... I'm quite happy for Nintendo to stick with the Wii for now.The graphical capabilities are fine for the type of games that Nintendo produce and can look really nice when developers actually try even on an HD TV (you gotta get components though as I found out)! I've got my 360 if I want HD visuals and I'm not sure how much more realistic I want graphics to get anyway, I'm not sure how comfortable I'd feel playin GTA et al if everything was super realistic.If the next consoles are just a different input device then I'd rather them just release that,than a new console. I'm not sure if there is gonna be another generation anyway. I think I'd rather see the advent of cloud computing and a universal media standard for video games.The company's could then concentrate on differentiating themselves with their games and input devices and the developers would have a wider audience for their work. Not sure if it will work out this way ,maybe in 10 years time though it may.

I hope they don't come out with a new console for at least a couple years or more. For starters, I have at least 10 games that I am yet to beat, and even worse I don't feel like ponying up the cash if I don't have to (since the Wii is still so good).

I think at least a couple more years should pass. Then I think Nintendo should introduce a new console but keep supporting the Wii as well for cheaper projects.

Honestly, it seems more and more these days, people seem to have A.D.D when it comes to technology. They want a new cell phone every year. There are riots when Apple does not announce the new iPhone every 3 months. I don't believe that we need new consoles, just better games. Yes, for the hundreds of you who will reply just to add to the banter. Honestly, most games down right "suck" and it is not the fault of the console, it's the developers. Again, I know...drop it!
The actual point I want to make is this, even if they did release a new console next year, that is only 4 to 5 years into the console life span. Look at Final Fantasy 13, yes, the game is lacking, but the point is it took Squeenix over 4 years to release it. So if a trend forms, which I am sure it would, we could see new consoles every year or two. I would think that games would be even more lacking. A developer would drop a game and make the next for the new console.
I am fine with the Wii, my DSlite, DSi and PS3 Slim. I still play all three. I play older games online. I have been playing World at War lately again on PS3 and there averages 20 to 40 thousand players online.
I say give me a decent game! How about Elder Scrolls 5? Sorry, Fallout 3 is awesome, buggy as hell, and I am kinda looking forward to New Vegas, but come on already! I have been through Morrowind and Oblivion too many times!
