i've downloaded the game and i actually like it; it's also good for my kids 'cause they have to problem solve...anyway...i've finished the easy level, now how do i get to the other difficulties?
so it looks like i'm the only one who plays/likes this game! lol i emailed the makers Big Blue Bubble since I couldn't find any answers here or online. here's what they had to say: "It sounds like you beat the game (there are 50 riddles and were the Tocks your last client?)! You can start a new game and go back through on a more difficult mode and try your hand at the same clients but this time they’ll need you to be even more specific with your designing. There is also the possibility of the sequel coming to the Wii in the not too distant future!"
I looks like I have to wipe out all my profiles and start completely over again but on a more difficult level; I created a profile for my son and was not given the option to choose which difficulty I wanted. I'm assuming that means that I will lose my already designed house from the easy level. I've sent a reply to the makers to find that out for sure and to find out if i'll retain the items that were added as i worked my way through the easy level.
This is one of those quirky little games I fancied trying out, but have always been a bit hesitant. It looks quite simple and fun but is it too easy? And are there plenty of challenges to keep you going and did it take long to complete? Sorry for all the questions, but they were my main concerns.
It can't have sold too badly if they're thinking of releasing a sequel
I actually really wanted this game as well, I'm glad to hear it's as fun as I thought it might be. I'm on a tight budget, though, so I'm really stingey with points and only get something new every month or so. It's seems like theres a relatively small pool of gamers that hang around these boards and don't touch games like these (or at least don't admit it when they do). Plus, this is the kind of game that seems like PC's are overflowing with so it might be redundant for people on PCs. I've always only had a Mac so I tend to be suckered by every cute managment style game that comes along, even if it's old hat to PC and cell phone gamers. Macs and consoles only get certain kinds of games since they cover a more limited demographic. Sheesh. I'll have to get this game after all, as soon as I have some extra cash. I just made a lot of huge assumptions about people on here, no offense people; thats just my read on the people I've talked with here.
ha ha! thanks for the comments! i actually like this game because i enjoy those interior design shows and i like to decorate. you have to problem solve because the clients info. can be a riddle, in a sort of pig-latin, or it takes you back to 3rd grade when you have to do a little math (i.e. you have to figure out how many chairs you need around 2 tables based on ages; james is so much older than jane who's 5 years older than the youngest, etc.) my almost 8 year old son was able to figure out most of it but there are some where even i couldn't get; there is a "get help" button that you can select for $500. then once you figure it all out and your client is happy you put your 3 workers to work. they'll ask you for help and you have to shake and twist your wii remote based on which tool you use. (i had a sore wrist the next day!) as they're working they'll get tired and you have to keep them buzzed on coffee or else they'll cut themselves and run around like a chicken with their head cut off.
the only issues i have with the game is that you get one room to decorate in your house...they do have a pc version of kitchen and bath (they say there's a sequel coming for wii)...and you can only put so many things in your room before it tells you that you have to sell some things to add more. also, there's the issue with not being able to move to the next level or at least i haven't figured that out yet. your "co-worker" says "take a vacation or redecorate your house and i'll see you soon!" but you don't see her after that. i've contacted BBB to figure out what will happen to my designed room and how to advance to the next level. right now i'm guessing i have to delete all profiles and start completely over.
Thanks for the feedback Might consider it for a future download or hold on for the sequel. Not too sure. It does sound interesting actually, and I'm a sucker for those shows too so I know what you mean
It seems strange that you'd have to delete your profile and start afresh to upgrade the difficulty. If that is the way they have done it let's hope they change it in the next one.
I like the idea of keeping them buzzed on coffee. Sounds like the people where I work
I've yet to still download the WiiWare version Home Sweet Home; but I lost interest a long time ago when I tried a demo on the computer!
And surprisingly; I was also interested in the title a long time ago when it was first announced & in developing stages! I thought it was going to be like an actual SIM game where you could build & place items in a house! Imagine my dissapointment when I saw the finished product hit the WiiWare service when it did back in 2008!
But I still been on the fence to want to dowload the WiiWare version still to this day; so maybe whenever I feel like wasting money on points sometime in the not too far distant future!

ok, so i've finished the easy level for both of my existing profiles...so i thought, based on what BBB had to say in an email, that i had to delete my profiles and start completely over so i could choose the medium or hard option. i've just deleted my profiles and created a new one and was not given any difficulty option. so, basically i've wasted 1000 points and a few days to play only the easy level over and over. i'm not too pleased about that! i should've waited for another response to my help question from BBB before i deleted but it's been days.
zaphod: nah, there's 3 levels. it asks you when you first begin the game but only when you create the first profile. the game allows for three profiles but only offers the difficulty choice to the first profile; the other 2 profiles have to play what the first chooses! i've contacted BBB about changing difficulty and you can read my second entry about it. thanks though!
zaphod: thanks!! that totally helped! i did as you said and was able to choose my difficulty level. at first i thought it didn't work because i was getting the same first house to decorate but it turns out that it was just the tutorial again and after i finished that house it allowed me to choose. the only problem is that i have to start all over agai but at least i can get more use out of the game! thanks again!
