Topic: Galaxy 2 Easter egg = Skyward Sword hint?

So, I'll be the first to say that there's probably no relation... but that said, I did happen to catch this bit of the background while I was re-watching the most recent Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword trailer today, and thought it eerily similar to the three mysterious figures standing in the background watching Mario in the Shiverburn Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy 2. See for yourself. Is it the same creature? The two series have been known to cross over each other in little ways before...

Even if there was a connection in anyway, no one would have guessed that those creepy silhouettes off in the distance in a random galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy 2 would hint at a new Zelda whatsoever.

True. Perhaps hint is not the best word. Even if they are connected, I doubt it'd be for any reason more than someone working on Zelda saw those things and said, yeah, let's toss that in somewhere. I just thought there were certain similarities and... well, it's fun to conjecture.

True and I know what your saying. But lets say they were connected? That Nintendo likes to do that these days: When Skyward Sword comes out this November those "monsters" may not make the cut.

There's actually an existing Zelda topic about deleted beta elements of Twilgiht Princess. Pretty much there's a lot of cool ideas that were never seen outside of these leaked images and trailers. What do I mean? Well that thing we're talking about might not be in the final version of Skyward Sword.

I don't see how a random background has to do with an enemy that looks like those puppet enemies Skull Kid uses wearing Majora's Mask.

Hell, what I just said sounds more like a purposely done reference to another game than this.

I don't remember that background when playing through Galaxy 2. But really... What are those things anyhow?

It's odd indeed. I was playing Link's Awakening for the Game Boy just now and it is full of Mario enemies.

I never noticed both of these things.

That's very strange, I can't figure out what those are doing there, I personally don't think it's a hint towards Skyward Sword but you never know. Are there only three in only that one level? What would be the purpose of that?
