XIII isn't very good anyway. The story didn't have much of a soul, and what else would you play Final Fantasy for? If it were on the Wii, it would lose the only thing it has going for it (the graphics). Sure, the Wii needs RPGs, but this shouldn't be in high demand. Besides, it's dead anyway. Maybe the WiiU will see some Final Fantasy action. Maybe XV won't suck (wishful thinking).

Nah, you're wrong. Final Fantasy XIII has one of the most layered and complex Final Fantasy plots to date. It's heavily influenced by Japanese values, but it's not the game's fault if that largely flew over western player's heads. The series is still built with the Japanese audience in mind, remember.

Even after reading the datalog though I still had no flipping idea what the hell was happening. It was all pretty and that's all that mattered. Untitled
plus it was a fun game

Really? What confused you? Perhaps I can help clarify?

I read the datalog and was more confused. Then I got bored with Lightning talking and blah blah clomp clomp. Needless to say I sold the game

Sorry to disappoint you, already-PS3-owner. Should have just said 360 though, I apologize. They aren't tough to find for $50, but PS3s will usually run you at least $80 unless you're up for exploiting some trade-in values...

No seriously, where are you getting this from? I've seen used PS3s go for more than the New PS3s, and I rarely see them go for less than $200 unless they're completely broken.

Personal experience viewing eBay, Amazon, less known sites, game specialty stores, hawk shops, etc. Of course, it's much tougher to find deals online for current gen systems than it is to find them in stores though (and as you said, you run the risk of them being broken and non-refundable). It also helps to keep up with special offers (there are sites dedicated to this), use coupons, etc.

As for the trade in thing, EB Games/GameStop occasionally has these deals where you trade in 5 or 7 games of $8+ in trade in value to get a used console "free". That's when you hunt down copies of $8 trade in value games using something like this then go to another store and buy said games for as cheap as you can get and you'll end up with a PS3 for anywhere from $60-$120. It's all about what cheap fodder games you can find though (or what you're willing to part with I guess). Wouldn't own all current-gen consoles without this. Sorry to derail the topic.
