wiiware becomes more and more addicting folks! let's hope nintendo goes the "rebirth" route like Konami did. Ohhh Kid Icarus, a new metroid, excitebike, devil world, donkey kong =D
yeah I'm a big fan of remake kinda stuff. I used to check out unofficial remakes on the pc all the time before the companies started doing it for real.
I like the remakes cause instead of building on modern ideas they go back to the classics and build from there. So, you end up with a refined version of classic looks and gameplay with some new modern features. A lot of series were reinvented into 3d so nice to go back to 2d style.
it comes out november 9. thats in a couple of weeks. probably will be 1000 wii points. I am going to buy a wii points card and get this and lost winds 2
I thought it was going to be something bigger. I guess I will see what the reviews are for it. Graphically it looked good enough for a WiiWare game. But with top tier games like New Super Mario Brothers Wii coming out in less than a month am I really going to want this ?
Best of all, though, the game makes great use of the Wii remote. While everyone gathered around the TV for that trial playthrough shuddered at the prospect of motion controls in something that plays just like an NES game, I decided to give them a quick try for the sake of fairness. To our amazement, the simple use of the Wii remote isn't simply unobtrusive, it actually makes the controls better. Racing still works with the D-pad and an accelerator button, but you can tilt the Wii remote to affect the pitch of your bike: rotate counter-clockwise to lean back and clockwise to press forward. Jumping was always the trickiest part of Excitebike, and the analog smoothness of the motion controls makes it intuitive -- it became second nature before the end of the first track. The game praises you for the quality of your landings, which is a big help in gauging your use of the remote. It's a small, detail, but it's a great use of a unique Wii feature (at least for now) to unobtrusively improve on a classic design.

Thanks for that, wario. Now I'm definitely getting this game.
The original Excitebike has always been my favorite game of the Excite series, so I am very pleased to see a remake. I'm going to be addicted to the track editor, once more!
@warioswoods: That's what I figured the motion controls would be used for. I even figured it would work as well as they say. It's the only reason I'm even considering downloading this game at some point. I'll have to have money in order to do that, though...
@Blue Protoman: No, November 9th, the Monday after next.
