I was actually thinking the same thing. Personally, I would love seeing Kiddy Kong making a comeback. Let's hope this game sells at least as good as the original Donkey Kong Countries.

To clarify my point; I'm don't really think it will get a direct sequel and I don't want to raise my hopes too high, however I would love to see a sequel.
I also wouldn't want that sequel to be on the Wii again. I'd prefer it to be on the Wii's successor or the 3DS.
Is the lack of the Kremlings due to the Nintendo-Rare-M$ drama or just a fresh start? BTW I am HYPED for this game, mainly due to Retro Studios revived my favorite game franchise( Metroid) flawlessly. I always wanted more from them. Donkey Kong is in good hands, my friends.

I actually do think that King K. Rool will pull a Wily and a "IT WAS ME ALL ALONG" will happen at the end of the game, and it'll blatantly set up the sequel (this wouldn't surprise me, especially since they did a blatant sequel hook in Prime 1 too)

I can it see now, you're fighting a large tiki cheiftain whose the leader of the tikis during the final boss battle and just when you think you've beaten him, he reveals himself as King K. Rool and part two of the fight begins. That would be so awesome, but we can only wish.
Then once beating him and getting 100% completion on the game, you can replay the game with the tiki's replaced as Kremlings. That would be awesome.
