We're looking at adding a "compare prices" module to game pages, so you can see the prices for games at different retailers, these in turn pay us a small referral fee per click and helps support the site.
Question is, if you DO use price comparison sites, which do you prefer? which do you find gets the best price?
Examples I can think of are PriceRunner, Kelkoo and Ciao.. does anyone use any of these? or any better ones? If you could tell us which your favourite is AND what country/region your in, that'd be great!
Obviously if we're going to do this, we'd like to use the best one!
I don't use them, but I do compare prices myself on a few sites, mainly GAME.co.uk, Amazon.co.uk and Ebay. I also get mail from The Hut and Zavvi and will make an impulse buy if there's a title at a good price I've had my eye on. It's rare that I'm not willing to give GAME a little extra due to their loyalty card program.
There he goes, Firkraag. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. - My VGscore
I use online sites for reviews, vids, etc. Unfortunately, I only buy (usually "used") from GameStop and Play-N-Trade locally. I'm an "instant gratification" kind of guy. I hate waiting for something.
I usually check on Google shopping to see where i can find the best price for a game, the only pitfall is the price may appear cheaper but doesn't always include free P+P like Play.com, HMV.com etc, but I have still found some great deals using this.
I am hyper-picky about whom I'll give my credit card number to. So prices for sites I'd never shop from aren't very useful to me. I buy games online from Amazon (not Amazon Marketplace) and in person from Best Buy. That's about it.
Eh in the US a new Wii game is pretty much always going to be $49.99 (or at Walmart, sometimes $49.97 or $49.79 or $49.84). So I just buy my games in person at Best Buy.
If you're the eBay type you can usually get a game for around $30-$40 about a month after its release (once everyone is re-selling their copy). That's my typical mode of purchase these days.

Too true. Anyone that takes paypal I prefer (thank you Play-Asia!) over giving out my debit card number yet again, so I'm usually reluctant to go for the cheapest deal to some site I've never purchased from before.
