Majora's Mask was worse. I don't want to spend hours wandering around that boring town or trying to figure out how to save the damn game. I want to explore the outside world and fight through dungeons, and this game had less of both, from what I gather. Not that it matters, as I lost interest completely before I finished dungeon one.
The game's got its following for a reason. I almost hate to say this so soon after another thread: But I see why others like it, it's just not for me. Some people like the bustling town and the time system. I could do without the town, as the conversations are largely uninteresting, and it's hard to navigate at least at first. The time system wouldn't be so bad if you could do save states, and sadly the VC doesn't correct this like it does for Link to the Past.
I actually loved the mask concept, though. Maybe that will save me from being eaten alive for not liking the game, haha.
LttP's biggest problem is that it isn't Link's Awakening. Link's Awakening is the best Zelda game ever made, period.
Agreed.

Half of it's fanbase is extremely whiny when proclaiming how great it is. Sure it's a good game, but come on. >:/
That's better than ALL of Halo's fanbase.

It's amazing how some video game characters make cameo appearances by just appearing in paintings, like Arthur from the G'nG titles appeared in paintings in Breath of Fire: The Dragon Warrior.
Ummm .... has anyone here found the hidden Chris Houlihan room? I haven't.
I prefer the simple storyline of ALttP than later games.
Although there's some games I don't mind having a story, and actually play them for the story, with Zelda games, I prefer to just get on with playing the game than having to stop and start continually as the game switches from gameplay to story scenes. I'd also rather that mini-games or anything that strays from the normal adventuring are completely optional.
If I want to go sniffing for bugs, I'll do it in my own time but for now let me get on with the rest of the game.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
