I'm sorry I derailed this thread, briun.

no one has played any further than an hour in, so it's way too early to even know if traditional powerups won't make an appearance later in the game. there could also be a lot of cool things about the new system; maybe you'll earn powerups that let you refill more than one tank at a time, ect., keeping it interesting to use all throughout the game.

there's only one reason i dislike getting rid of power ups altogether, and that is that the awesome tractor beam effect when charging your gun won't have anything to pull in anymore.

I think the chances of Metroid Other M being a easy game is far from the truth. Team Ninja is known for making tough games. Im thinking with this being a Metriod game and a notorious Hardcore Game (considered to be, but I dont so much agree lol). I think they migh pump the difficulty on up there on this one. I kinda hope so, it will make Samus feel so much more BadA.. than she already is.

This is still a "purchase immediately" item for me come August. They could force you to use the Nunchuk's analog stick with your butt cheeks in order to play it and I'd still get it. Metroid is my favorite Nintendo series.
