well, i was reading an issue of Nintendo Power today and the main article was on Other M. it was talking about the gameplay and stuff, but i read one disheartening sentence. It turns out that enemies will not drop ANY health or missile pickups and will rely solely on a concentration move where you hole the wiimote upright and press A and then some of your health and missiles will replenish. well, as much hope as i have for Other M, i must say that this system SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm probably going to still buy it but yeah, this "concentration move" sounds pretty stupid. Actually, from all the previews I've read about Other M, the entire control scheme sounds wacky but I'll wait and see.
Shee-ot Corbie.... I already bought the game and bought a Black Wii (just as slick looking as the Bad A$$ costume Ryu Hayabusa wears in Ninja Gaiden Sigma.... [see what I did there])! Team Ninja rule the hardcore gaming market IMO and just the fact that they have Anything to do with Metroid has me so stoked it makes my blood pump. Im sure the system will be intergrated perfectly as this is the crazy Team Ninja guys.... Im just wondering what happens if you shake the remote?

Samus' armor breaks off like in Brawl, except Team Ninja decided the Zero Suit wasn't necessary for her to wear so she's going to be wearing a Dead or Alive sanctioned bikini!
....I can dream, right?

Keep it PG-13-ish.
LOL.... Im glad you guys caught on to that one. The shaking the controller to shake a b..b in Ninja Gaiden Sigma is flippin hilarious. I really didnt know if anyone would catch on to that. Im really a diehard Team Ninja fan, so I really am looking forward to playing this finally.

Seems like a pointless way to make the game easier. This along with the dubious weapons system has me wondering if this'll be any good, but as others have said, I'm getting it anyway. It's not like there's really anything else to look forward to right now.
@Adam.... Exactly why I took a two year hiatus from Wii lol. I now have so many (ALL Really Cheap Now) games to grab. I was looking in Gamestop yesterday and Madworld, The Conduit, etc and lots of the big games aimed at older gamers are ALL $20. I did drop $30 on Muramasa Demon Blade though as Ignition Games have a tendency to be Really hard to find really quickly.
My best guess with Metroid Other M is it will be a good bit like Ninja Gaiden DS, and either first play thru be a bit easier with much higher difficulty levels later or Multiple Difficulty Levels from the start, with higher levels changing the way you gaing weapons, armor, etc.

Multiple difficulties would be lovely, as it sounds (despite developers' assurances) like a more linear affair. Time will tell.
And yea, I've recently been buying used Wii and PS2 games. I think that's the way to go. When you have more than a casual appetite for games, $50-60 is entirely unreasonable to be spending so often. Music, movies, books -- none of this will eat your wallet faster than video games.
I would have waited to rent Dot Heroes even if I had thought Blockbuster would get it. I might eventually cancel Other M for the same reason. I only ever preordered it because I had trade-in credit and nothing to use it on.
But when I say nothing to look forward to, I mean simply on the retail front. VC and WW (mostly the latter) have been reason enough to stay interested in the Wii, so I'm in no way dissatisfied.
The fact that enemies won't drop any health or ammo has been known for months. It does suck, but I'm sure it'll work out fine, and it certainly won't keep me from getting the game as soon as humanly possible...
"Don't make enemies, they'll stab your heart; don't make friends, they'll stab your back. Including me, including you, all men are trash. Don't love; don't be loved. Have nothing to do with other; live in isolation."
I think this'll actually make it harder. Like in Monster Hunter, where you have to try to find enough space between you and the 20ft face-chewing beasty to drink a potion, here instead of just being able to blast some crates or lesser enemies around the place, you'll have to seek out space to recharge without the boss taking the opportunity to decapitate you.

Yeah, this. As long as it works consistently I don't think it's a big deal. The only thing I'm really worried about is the apparent linearity and not being able to move in the first person, but I'm feeling more confident after seeing the gameplay trailer.
