Flowerworks has been out for more than a week but I haven't seen much discussion of this game around here so I decided to bump this thread in the hopes of getting people talking about it again. I took the plunge myself and downloaded it after reading Sean's review. When I first saw this game, I didn't think that I would like it but I have to say that I really am enjoying it. It is a very original and unique game with a considerable amount of content. I think that it is one of the better games available on the WiiWare service right now. People might be quick to dismiss it because the visuals make it look like it is simply a kid's game but it can actually be quite challenging. If you have 1000 points and are looking for a good WiiWare game to play then you should give Flowerworks a try. It may not be Game of the Year material but it really is a lot of fun!
I agree with WolfRamHeart. When I first started it up, I was like "What the **** did I just download?". After you stick with it and get the game-play down it's some serious fun. I was busting off some wicked combo essplosions! Good game, well worth the 1000 points.
Still not that interested. 1000 points is a big investment for me considering I limit myself to 2,000 points per month now. I might get it if Nintendo release a demo that impresses but largely I avoid WiiWare in favour of the Virtual Console nowadays.
There's far too much junk on WiiWare that gets forgiven for being cheap (even at 1,000 points) Of the 60 (give or take a few) titles I've bought I'd rate about 6 as essential, ten as average-good and the rest are simply throwaway. My VC collection is nearly double the size and largely the opposite (i.e. mostly good to great)
Well, I think it was because I've been getting inundated. He was saved by being in the States where ISP's aren't the greatest at getting you hooked up after a move. The game was good enough anyway, so he missed out!
It is pretty tough. I thought it was going to be fairly easy at first, but I usually get around 200,000 and the 5 star rank demands upwards of 750,000 points. Anybody have any advanced tips (besides chaining bubbles and the Follie Firework)?
there are abilities that you gain later in the game that really help out with getting highscores and more stars.
if you have the doeble shot ability yet, it does something that's kunda hard to notice, and that the game doesn't really tell you. if you shoot off a pollen and then quickly shoot off another pollen before the first one hits the flower, they'll both count toward the same combo, so if you get a 3 combo with both of them, it'll count as a 6 combo, and you'll get MANy more points.

I understand the comments about the price - but the truth is: a) Its easily worth $10 content and length wise (its one of the longest WiiWare titles) b) Most (if not all?) of the good games are 1000pts or more c) All of the best-selling titles are 1000pts (with the exception of games like MyAquarium)
I buy only a few WiiWare titles - but I'll much rather have one excellent 1,000 pt game - than 2 poor 500pt games. Playing Life as a Darklord now, and loving
