@KennyPowers
You just ignored another example of online gaming that I gave you. Kids trade Pokemon, constantly. Whenever there is a new Tetris, there's people usually playing that. When Medal of Honor came out for Wii, there were more people online then there currently are for CoD on Wii U. Online Pokemon battles, Starfox Command, etc. I gave you one extra example, then etc, so I didn't have to list some more off.
People that own Nintendo systems, play online, If you really want, you can bring in Animal Crossing, I know for a fact that people play that online, even if they have to trade friend codes, or whatever. You're not giving enough credit to all the games that go online. There's more to play online than just Mario Kart.
Besides, currently on Wii U, Monster Hunter had a HUGE online group. One time the whole lobby was almost full. People are always playing Injustice, and more people have bought Tekken. Even if CoD has a small online community, selling that 250,000 copies is more important to Activision, anyway.
Remember you're talking about a Nintendo console. Online is like rat poison to both Nintendo and it's fans, so of course you should expect the multiplayer numbers to be low.

This doesn't even make any sense. Even if DS and Wii never had online voice chat or friend features, people still played online, I just gave a few examples of games that alot of people played or used online for, at one given time,

this will be funny when mario kart 8 (aka one of the only Wii U games anyone cares about) comes out
the only reason i didn't just completely bury you as a human being is because you at least acknowledged that Nintendo's fans are relevant to why this is maybe a thing
Nintendo is actively focusing in a local multiplayer experience and if you think multiplayer will be as widespread as the competition you are crazy (this is not a bad thing necessarily, a lot of online gaming is bad and focused on to the point of badly hurting games ). That being said, the ftp sub game is doing better than it has any right to for many reasons.

What?

@Hy8ogen I have CoD:BO2 and COD:G, but not Monster Hunter. I like the Zombie mode in BO2 better than Extinction in Ghosts, so I play BO2 more than I do Ghosts. Also, there's no DLC in either of those games (aside from FreeFall) so the multiplayer gets kind of lame playing the same levels over and over again. I don't get tired of the gameplay, I just get tired of the levels. When FreeFall came out I got back into it for a bit, but it was just one map, so... it didn't help much. And at least the Zombies mode in BO2 has more than one map. The alien mode in Ghosts only has one.
Also, I've been going back to Goldeneye for the Wii recently, since the servers are going to be taken down soon. And I also have a bunch of other games to play, as I like to replay classics often.
I have a feeling that game's not gonna be looked fondly back at because of its COD-lite single player, but the multiplayer was really well done. Relatively simple but well made.
Sorry I'm playing Advance Wars right now, I'll be back on the Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate scene soon!

I have Monster Hunter for my Wii U and I haven't started online yet. I'm still learning the controls and stuff. I will play online as soon as I feel ready.
You should venture online. I bet you know more than you think you do!
Why are several people here saying they "don't have time" to play online??
If you have time to play video games, you can most certainly spend that time playing online if you so choose. They are not mutually exclusive.
Online play presupposes a certain level of time commitment. If I play a single-player game, I can pause whenever I want and jump back into the action later. Do you really see that as an option if I'm hunting in a group in MH?
Some people don't have the time to really sit down and play online for any significant amount of time. Some people have lousy internet and are unable to play online in a stable manner. Some people prefer gaming as alone time, and don't want to spend it with other people. Some people see gaming as a social activity that they can engage in with friends and family, but have no desire to play with strangers.
Why are people so obsessed with online play these days?
Because online play is fun. I get your point about playing alone though. I can't really speak for anyone else, but back when I was a gold member on XBL I had a blast playing with strangers/friends online. When I played Gears of War 2/3 and Halo Reach/4 online I would always come across some very interesting people who always made the game chat hilarious. I didn't like Halo 4 online all that much but playing with friends in a party chat made it a lot better because of all the stupid stuff we used to do and the private game rooms. What I'm trying to say is, playing online adds to the experience.

Except that the numbers aren't that low. Plus why is it that when I went online with Mario Kart Wii I always got a fairly full list every time. Quickly. When I go online with Mario Kart 7 it takes maybe a minute and I'm dropped into a match with 5+ people. When Mario Kart DS was all the rage I always found myself starting the match with four players..... before they all quit because they didn't want to lose to that one guy who was snaking through the track.
The number of people online is dependent on two things. How good the online mode is and how many people brought the game. That's it.
I played Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate all of the time until a few weeks ago when my Wii U decided to stop reading Wii U discs. It still runs Wii discs perfectly in Wii Mode so I'll just download my Wii U games from now on instead of risking losing my $750.00+ worth of Wii Shop and Wii U eshop downloads. I'll get this game again eventually and when I do let's hunt some monsters @Hy8ogen .
why not send it to nintendo to get it fixed? its a new console and its already broken...
does this have something to do with letting nintendo fix your console and accidentally erasing your vc games?

I've wondered why it's sometimes hard to find a game playing Wii Sports Club Golf.... I'm having great fun with it, you can get better with practice, but no matter how good you get you're not exempt from making a bonehead shot once in a while... And it states my club ( Michigan ) has like 300 and some online wins... I have 80 something myself, you mean to tell me only like 4 or 5 dudes in Michigan play it? I don't get it....

I play Wii Sports Club a fair bit but I only really went online with Bowling. The other games don't really suit online play that well. Golf was too slow especially with some opponents who insist on taking way too long. Tennis is too fast paced which most of the time ended with massive lag and a fairly average game. Bowling is fairly fast but is also turn based.

You wonder why there's not enough people on COD? Maybe because the Wii U version doesn't have DLC or Elite on it, why go online with the least supported version. I play BO 2 online but if people own multiple consoles including the PS3 or 360, why go online with the Wii U version?

I have both PS3 and Wii U and I choose to go with the Wii U because of the gamepad and motion controls. Starting to regret it now...I want to play the new maps for extinction T_T

Well if/when the extinction dlc comes to Wii U, Ghost will move up on my buy list
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Me too. In my opinion, the Wii U is the best platform to play COD. The Pro controller and Wii U gamepad is awesome and we have different control methods. Yes believe it or not I actually love using the gamepad in COD.
TBH, Activision needs to give the DLC a bit of a rest. It's a given that Wii U is lacking the DLC, but the amount of DLC they release, is ridiculous, anyway.
Just once, I wish that Activision would release an entire game for $60. Dead Rising 3 did the same thing, It's $90 for the "Ultimate Edition". Make one freaking version, and make it complete. This DLC s*** is getting out of hand. Even Konami is charging $30 for a demo...
I don't get how the hell people can support this s***.
