Why is there so little people playing COD Ghosts and Monster hunter? Before people come on and shoot me, let me explain myself.
I play Call of Duty Ghosts and Monster Hunter 3 ultimate regularly on my Wii U. It saddens me everytime I go online and see less than 1000 people playing the games. Why is this? So far there are close to 150k Copies of COD Ghost and 500k copies of Monster Hunter out there. Where is everybody?
I've been on my PS3's black ops recently and guess what? There are close to 40k people on there!! 40k people on a 3 year old game and the Wii U only has around 1000 people on Ghosts despite having 150k copies sold. Not to mention Monster Hunter only have less than 1000 people online in the weekends, again regardless of having 500k copies sold.
Honestly these numbers are very depressing and it kept me wondering, where is everyone? I love playing online multiplayer games on my Wii U and I want the Devs to keep supporting it. But with the current trend, it seems unlikely.

As @ogo79 said, the SNS-RZ-USA is a prime giveaway that it's not a legit retail cart.
And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)
More then likely they are busy with other games or other things in general. I am sure that it will pick up here in a few months when the kiddies are out of school for the summer. Besides you are quoting sold numbers, who knows how many of those people still have the game. I mean I bought MH3U on both the Wii U and 3ds and ended up trading in both after a few months.

TBH, I'm surprised it sold that much. Same goes for Black Ops II, Last time I checked, they were sitting at around 70,000 and 170,000 sales respectively, so I guess people are still buying CoD on Wii U.
I'm not really sure why hardly anyone is online, though. Maybe they don't have internet(good internet), or don't like playing online.
It's still encouraging to see that Wii U got some more sales for both games. I have these CoD games, but I've been playing Titan Fall...
EDIT: Also, most of everyone that was playing MH3U, has probably moved on. I used to play everyday for hours, but I eventually grew kind of bored. It was awesome for the 120 hours or so that I played it, though.
@Unca_Lz and @ogo79 , still you guys did not "contribute" to the 150k and 500k numbers. I'm talking about people who actually bought the games and do not play them. These 2 games are focused on online, so just playing them offline just doesn't make sense.

Well, Monster Hunter isn't completely online oriented. I spent about 85 hours on the single player mode, before even touching the online mode. From my perspective, there wasn't much to improve on at the end of the single player mode, so I jumped online. I beat all of the missions, multiple times, and I'm not really interested in collecting armour and such,
My armour set is setup, so that I don't have any weakness OR strength, but I still retain the skills.
I've had MH3U for about a year now and have logged over 400 hours on the game, but have never played online. I usually just do the local multiplayer thing with friends.
Edit: @SCAR392 Those numbers are absolutely terrible for a COD game.

I spent like 5 hours on single player mode and the other 250 on online....Playing with other people is just so much fun and rage inducing at times.

Most of my friends that play lots of games online play with people they know, including each other. In order to do that, they have to play on the same system.
None of them play games online with the Wii U, even if they own Wii Us. This is because most of their friends don't have Wii Us, and the ones that do, well, how do they play with each other? The Wii U doesn't have any immediate messaging or notification systems or chatting systems that facilitate gaming with friends online like the competition does. That's why so few people play games online; it's hard to play with friends.

I play with both strangers and friends. I usually just send them a text message or facebook message them to see if they want to play. If they are online you can always send them a mii verse message and they will know because the annoying blue light will keep blinking. I do agree however, it would be massively more effective if message notifications pops up on the screen rather than the blinking blue light.
I don't know if we still are on topic but is the USB keyboard work for Wii U, PS3, and even Xbox 360? I know its did work for Wii on posting message and Animal Crossing City Folk.
I don't think the average Nintendo owner is into the online competitive aspects of gaming (aside from Mario Kart and Smash Bros).
Microsoft and Sony have games and online services that foster a competitive atmosphere, like voice chat, ability to play with anyone, online leader boards, etc. Nintendo, at least with the Wii, tried to make online play as difficult to enjoy as possible. The Wii-U isn't much better for it either.

@MAN1AC Seriously? So people like you actually exist huh! Why not online? It's so much more fun on there! Especially event mobs.
Yea I'm one of the weird ones I started playing locally last gen and never made the transition to online. It seems like every time I play people are at my place so I never have to go online.
I've been meaning to try the online multiplayer but never get around to it. Add me on Miiverse. I'll try to hop on later this week.
@mooomoo
I assumed it would be the opposite since there aren't many people with Wii Us and MH3U is one of the bigger games with online multiplayer

I'm not sure about Xbox 360, but Wii U, PS3, and Xbox One support a keyboard.
@MAN1AC
The sales are "terrible" in comparison to the Xbox and PS sales, but on their own, they aren't that bad.
