X is coming. Be patient, and the Wii U will dominate.
I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but that game isn't going to sell the Wii U. Xenoblade couldn't even manage to sell a million copies on the Wii. Most RPGs never sell that well.
well too be fair I dont't even think a million copies were printed in the initial print run, they were also exclusive to gamestop in the US and they sold out very quickly.

As much as I love Xenoblade and looking forward to X, it's not going sell more Wii U's.
To blessed to be stressed.
80's music makes me feel fabulous.
What Would Duane Do? Rynoggery

Ya I don't think it will either was just making a point that xenoblade never really had the chance to move a million copies, If any game will move units it's mario kart hands down.
Its sad to say this but i think Nintendo might have lost it for good this time. I don't think we'll see Nintendo ever again how we remember it. They can only blame themselves for the current predicament they're in. For so many years & console iterations they didn't look seriously what others were doing & now the market is forcing them to change with the times. It just looks like they still aren't ready for that & as a long time Nintendo fan that makes me a sad panda. I just can't support buying Nintendos stuff anymore until they wake up, see & hear what people want from them.
Well, what do you want to see; more "niche" games that are for hardcore enthusiasts? Platformers, 576P/30FPS, A Musou game. A big, bulky, controller, a video game console lacking media functions?
Watch Dogs for Wii U will run lower than 900p and 30fps.
It is not selling well because of lame gimmick and lack of longevity.
The Wii U was predicted a hard sell long before launch even from users on this site. It never made a strong argument pre or post launch to fans or the public as if Nintendo hoped it would 'find its way' to the right consumers. And that's because after Wii they didn't know where all their customers would be coming from unlike Sony and MS, so they did the 'a little for everyone' thing which the world rejected by either not noticing or pointing out why 'a little for everyone' makes for a bad console in the market today.

You mean what YOU want from them? Stop lumping everyone as sharing the same opinion

Oh right, because the graphics on the Wii U are just flat out terrible.
I mean seriously, just look at those N64 visuals.
mm, Wii visuals extra suited for U!
sarcasm aside we all know why the Wii U is struggling its not that hard to point out really.
1. Poor Marketing all around
2. The Controller and Name, it doesn't help that the controller takes center stage on the box and both it and the name make the consumer think its just a add on to the original Wii
3. lack of games for long periods
4. even tho its getting redundant to point out but poor 3rd party support, its been there since the n64 days i know but the wii u is looking set towards having the absolute worst 3rd party support of any console/handheld Nintendo has ever manufactured.
The main issue with Wii U is that it was a Nintendo console that launched with a focus towards the Xbox 360/Ps3 crowd, yet came with Nintendo Land. This was after actively ignoring the Wii for no reason other than to sabotage their own momentum. And by the time they had games out, people were distracted by the other 2 consoles. This combined with horrible early marketing and until now not having a game until 2 weeks from now that had any chance to sell the console to any HUGE degree other than Mario platforming (and maybe in an alternate reality, ZombiU), Wii U's problem selling shouldn't be a surprise. An unfair non-surprise considering its the only interesting console and the one with the most consistently worthwhile exclusives, both now and later (though Microsoft is trying), but that is what Nintendo did.
Literally the next month or so is the first time (maybe second time, I was mixed on how much 3D World would help) Nintendo has even done ANYTHING AT ALL that could sell their console in a major way post-launch. On one hand, it will hopefully prove my point that even a year and a half is not necessarily significant in the grand scheme of things, on the other hand Nintendo is dumb for letting that happen in the first place.
It had a decent line up/support early on from third parties- oddly, it was the lack of their own titles and exclusives otherwise that hurt it more, IMO. /Nintendoland/NSMBU were okay, but it wasn't until Pikmin and later W101 until we saw better titles and then more recently SM3dW and DKTF- all were delayed, it seems.
The problem with the WiiU is that it has very little third party support compared to the other two consoles & the launch was spectacularly messed up... which seems to be a trait of Nintendo's nowadays. They messed up the 3DS launch to & it took months & a massive price drop to eventually get the 3DS selling the way it does now.
Nintendo has always had issues with third party developers, either charging them more to develop for Nintendo than other companies, making hardware which is difficult to program for OR in the case of Square Enix, putting stupid restrictions on them, did you know back in the N64 era that Nintendo wouldn't allow Square to have bigger carts for Final Fantasy 7, so demanded that Square CUT THE GAME IN HALF!?! Square then jumped ship & signed an exclusivity deal with Sony which ran out only a couple of years ago.
I still think the "confusing name" thing is a load of bull. The Xbox One is literally called the Xbox One when we've already had a first iteration in the Xbox line. And it's not like they didn't market the Kinect out the bum for it. If you're going to use the confusing name argument, I'm surprised no one thought the Xbox One was just a Kinect 2.0 for the 360. Oh, but what did people do? They looked around and found out what the difference was. No one bothered with the Wii U because they don't care about Nintendo. End of story. No other reason for it. They instantly brand Nintendo as kiddie because there aren't (m)any games that involve shooting other people or stabbing other people with the sole purpose of making you feel like your genitals are larger than everyone else's and don't bother to look into what the console can actually offer in terms of gameplay and variety.
Games can't even be an argument either because the best selling games on the One and PS4 are "last gen ports." Assassin's Creed IV, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Titanfall... They're all on the PS3 and 360. The newer games are either subpar (Ryse) or flat-out boring by the general consensus (Knack).
Using the media center argument is dumb because basically EVERYONE that owns ANY game console also has access to a computer, a television, a radio, and a cell phone/smart phone. Great, you can now use your gaming console to do what you can already do on other devices more efficiently. Let's use that as a tally mark against the Wii U. Even so, the Wii U has all of the media stuff integrated that any normal person could possibly want and complaining about not being able to play music is dumb when you can just turn on your laptop and set your MP3s to go on loop.
3rd party support is a valid point, but it's only becoming a way to identify newer "hardcore" gamers. People who have been gaming for a long time and are dedicated to their gaming hobby (congrats, I consider these people to be the REAL hardcore gamers) know that Nintendo and third parties have never really walked hand in hand. On the flip side, though, Nintendo gets a fair amount of the more talked about third party titles (Call of Duty, Lego games, some racers) or trimmed down versions (Dead Space Extraction, Resident Evil Umbrella/Darkside Chronicles) and their first party titles more than make up for what they lack in quantity.
The only REAL and TRUE issue with the Wii U is marketing. If the Wii U had the same marketing that the Wii, DS, and 3DS had, it'd be selling just as well as if not more than it's 8th generation counterparts.
In my opinion, I have no clue why the Wii U isn't selling like hotcakes simply because it's different from the other two. Now with Microsoft's dropping of the Kinect on the Xbox One, there is nothing noteworthy to differentiate the two. They will have the exact same library apart from exclusives and even those will only really consist of a few games here and there. They will have the same features, the same gameplay, the same everything. Nintendo is doing something different. If this hurts them, so be it. At least they tried. Nintendo will remain relevant simply because they will keep trying something new to try and change gaming to make it more fun and more interactive. Microsoft and Sony will more than likely keep up what they've been doing and come the next console generation, they'll have a touch more power, a bit more RAM, some pretty textures, and the same controller while Nintendo does something different once more to try and change gaming as we know it for the better.
TL;DR: The Wii U isn't selling well because people are afraid of change and they'll continue to beat dead horses to resist changing even if that horse is only bone fragments on the dirt.
I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite
^ No one thought the Xbox One was a kinect 2.0 because it was properly advertised and it was made clear upon its introduction at E3 that it was a new console.
When the Wii-U debuted, many people who watched the press conference thought it was an add-on for the Wii. The name is horrible. It's like if the new Xbox was called 'Xbox 370'. It's too close to the previous systems name.

You're serious? You honestly mean to tell me that you watched the Wii U's debut and couldn't figure out that it was a new console? Either people are REALLY thick, or you're trolling.
If it was called the Xbox 370, people wouldn't be confused because 370 is higher than 360. It wouldn't make sense. It'd be just as dumb as One, but people'd understand. I think calling it a Super Wii would be more confusing or even Wii 2.
