I don't know/think that the console/game can check whether the sound slider is on or off.

It can since that was the first thing Peppy said to me. I had the sound off and he told me to slide the slider

The 3D sound is very nice but having my little kid sleeping in the next room puts me an headphones

He told me to adjust the slider too and I had it on. But I think it can sense it because I think the virtual slider shown on screen moves when you move the volume slider on the controller. I think, I didn't mess with it much lol.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Ah interesting, didn't know that!
Of course wearing headphones (which I often do when I play Splatoon at night) makes total sense if your kid is asleep. My first thought on your original post was actually "Does he mean 'having the sound completely on TV' when he has to be quiet? But if so, why would the TV's sound be on in the first place?". ^^

Oh and btw, didn't know you're from Germany too.

I think the biggest thing that threw me with the controls is that in the Walker, a single push of the R-Stick changes your rotation, whereas a double tap initiates a barrel roll which moves you linearly and doesn't effect your rotation. This rules out making minor adjustments to your orientation with consecutive single taps. However, the fact that locking on to something automatically puts you in 'strafe mode' goes some way to nullify this.

The same thing happened to me too. So many times! Every time I instinctively wanted to change the rotation, I barrelrolled and fell of the platforms I was supposed to climb on. And this happened repeatedly, didn't figure out why it happened the first few times. ^^

My GOTY? Legend Of Zelda: Splat of the child. Ah no, I meant LoZ: Breath of the SPLATOOOON!

@Socar: Star Fox? It's too early to say. The game just came out. UK and Japan first week sales will be available next week, while US sales will have to wait until May when the April NPD results come in.

@Socar: Well it sold out at my local indie store.

@IceClimbers: So....no reports that the game got sold out and all other lame excuses why copies aren't fully out?

Oh well, guess the waiting game is needed here. Hopefully, this game does well enough for Nintendo to not make it dormant again.

After so long...I'm back. Don't ask why

After having played this game for 8 hours so far (got it very late morning yesterday), I can safely say I regret not trying it out last year at EGX with the special physical arwing machines. If I go this year, I'll be sure to focus on Nintendo even if E3 2016 is a huge disappointment (i.e. NX is disappointing).

Can't disappoint you if it isn't there lol

Jirad has done his review and he definetely loves it to the point that he stresses people to play the game!

The only downside he has is that he didn't get anything out of 100% the game......poor guy. As someone who likes 100% games that I adore, I sympathize him.

Well that would be my favourite option, another year of quality 3DS and Wii U games meanwhile NX is released November 2017. Don't think it'll be that way but the rumours situation has been pretty unusual recently, lots of backtracking and fakes by what was once credible sources.

@DarthNocturnal: Maybe they want to let Zelda U and the rest of the Wii U Fall/Winter library shine, and then they could talk about the NX December 31st, 2016 and still have talked about it in 2016 lol. But this is getting off topic.

So I've just beaten the main campaign and gone fishing for a few extra medals, and I think this game is great. I'm really, really happy I bought it. I think the controls really opened up a lot of the moments that made this game special. I've just managed to get the medal on [sploiler]Aquarosa
, and the whole balance between precision aiming and flying on the GamePad, with checking the status of the foe on the TV is really cool, especially when [sploiler]the electro-magnetic field goes off and you watch yourself boosting away from it in full cinematic glory, only to then turn around as it recedes and continue your assault
.

I've really enjoyed learning how to play the game from quite a low starting point. I find it quite exhilarating and refreshing being asked to do genuinely new things, like shooting at enemies on the ground I can't see on the screen (which feels like what I imagine riding on one of those glass-bottom boats is like), or engaging in the cinematic battles with the view locked on the opponent. It reminds me a bit of when I first started playing games; when I wasn't tediously 'good' at nearly all games right from the outset, and had to learn new skills in a relatively humble fashion.

I'm actually looking forward to trying to go after the medals. It feels very easy to miss so much of the levels as they fly by for the first time, as you're mainly just trying to survive and not do anything stupid. Some of my favourite levels have been the ones I've died on most often, as I've had to learn how to play them properly. And despite the constant babbling over the radiowaves, I think there are still a lot of things that aren't well explained and easy to miss on the first attempt. For example, on my first time against the Gigarilla, I kept trying to fly around it to shoot it's backside, but then realised I could just fly through its legs, transform into the Walker (which keeps you mercifully stationary), do an insta-turn with X, then fire away merrily.

Anyway, yeah, generally very happy with the game so far.

HAVE BEEN ENJOY A BOOM

I'm so totally impressed with Star Fox Zero.

3 minutes in the tutorial and I was having so much fun flying around learning the ropes.

Idk what people were going on about. I think it's all been much ado about nothing, having now played the game for myself.

I just finished the Titania level, and am having a blast with this game so far! I really love the controls. This feels like next-gen gameplay and a step in the right direction for the series. Hopefully the rest of the levels keep me entertained.

So far I like it! Sure the controls are weird, but I have played 3 stages so far and didn't have that much trouble. The most trouble I had so far is with the Walker. He doesn't move as fluid as I had hoped.

@Grumblevolcano: Why do you consider NX to be disappointing? (I have my reasons too.)

Sounds like everyone's having fun! I might pick it up later in the summer after the huge month of releases in May that I'm looking forward to.

@NinjaWaddleDee: I think he said ''if'', don't think it's possible to regard the system as disappointing, we don't even know what it is!

Oh. The only reason I would consider it disappointing, is that it's yet another system I have to buy lol. Well I don't HAVE to... but I will most likely.
