I'm not too keen on Facebook for this sort of thing, and I find that here works fine. I don't choose the option to watch this topic, but I find using the 'at' symbol works well as long as people have posted fairly recently to say that they're interested.
@DreamyViridi@Blue_Blur if there's another person who wants to join (or shani once they're available), then I'd be up for joining you guys in a quad squad.
Yeah, Facebook is more of a service I use for extended family and networking. I use it mostly to group chat with people in music groups that I'm in, and stay connected with people I meet at symposiums, so it's more business.
Email is very flexible, though, because you can create folders and redirections. Everything from Nintendolife has it's own folder, has a separate email icon, and a separate ringtone. It's really nice; I can choose to ignore it if I'm doing something more important.
I'll be on more tomorrow (namely 1pm GMT to 5pm GMT) (Gimme a yell if you want to squad/private). The FB group sounds like a good idea, but, there only seems to be two people on... I'll probably join if it gets more people on.
A Facebook group sounds great to mem since I use Facebook all the time. The only reason why I'm hesitating to join is... you know, privacy.
Anyway, I while I was trying to go back to the previous page, I accidentally clicked on page 33 or so. Its content was really amusing: It was about the lack of a CERTAIN FEATURE that made everyone literally explode (I'll admit, I too wasn't really supportive of the decision itself), but what was very amusing was the way some people were actually going to boycott the game because of the lack of said feature (I'm not saying that feature because reasons). In fact, one or two of those people are still regulars on this thread.
Yep, it's really good to reminisce. XD
Lol, I know how you feel. So many times I was so close to ranking up! Sometimes this (wonderful) game drives you crazy.
But don't give up, stay persistent - even if it may take some weeks of ups and downs, in the end you will reach the desired rank-up!
@crimsontadpoles: True, the @ feature also works perfectly. I'll boot up Splatoon in a few minutes! @VeeFlamesNL: Haha, that happens to me all the time. Sadly, this forum doesn't seem to have a feature where you open the thread link (as a bookmark) and it automatically shows you the last page. I sometimes ended up responding to posts that are months old! And judging from all that experience we all had with Splatoon, I can easily say: Boykotting Splatoon it because of that would've been stupid (no offence). This game doesn't need voice-chat. Sure, you could coordinate tactically, but so far when I played with DaGreen while also talking on Steam voice chat or the telephone (via headset), it never helped or felt necessary. With the right awareness you see everything right there in the game and on the map. Talking while playing actually distracts me more than it helps.
Thinking it would bomb. Those were the days (not). I had faith it would do reasonably well, but it's certainly surpassed my expectations. Whilst an Anime would have been good, and I think that would have enhanced it, it hasn't been necessary for the success that it has been.
The Single player was slightly worse than I thought it would be, but the Multi player has been so much better than I envisioned it. (As a CoD-esque mess of angry voice chats) (I'll have to take people's word for it that CoD's voice chat is bad, because I've never bothered to own any CoD.)
If I still have a couple of gripes, they're mostly to do with how the quality of the single-player should've gone further. Maybe about 1.5x as much, to be a solid, 8 hour campaign, rather than being the equivalent of Luigi's mansion, very good quality, but painfully too-short lived. (And, I've considered Amiibo in this, but in essence, the Boy and Girl inkling are unlocking a weapon select mode, for questionable rewards. The Squid's mode I feel is different enough to warrant being it's own mode. (That IS just from videos though.)) All my other worries have been slowly removed as time's gone on.
@Blue_Blur: Same to you! Yeah I'm stopping now too, because I was a salty squid in some of those... That last match was what tipped the scale though. A- Rank! YES!
@Jazzer94: @crimsontadpoles: So are we only three players right now? Then I think I'll warm up in ranked battle until we got a fourth player. @DreamyViridi: Congrats! I just managed to do that myself recently. Felt long overdue. Actually, after that it felt like I was winning more matches than before, meaning less mistakes by my teammates (not that I wouldn't do any of course ) and more tactical understanding/ harmony. Let me know whenever you want to push higher together, I'm at A- 42 right now.
@DreamyViridi I agree with Blue_Blur here. You've only been playing a short time, yet you're already up to the same rank I am. I'm going to have to redouble my efforts.
Out of curiosity, which weapon are you maining, and what playstyle do you find yourself in most? (forward attacker, flanker, supporter, skirmisher etc).
