Also, FYI, I can't think of any game of Nintendo's that would not be worth the purchase if you didn't have the amiibo. Amiibo are just little bonuses.
He doesn't like it when I beat him at MK8 lol. We do have an Amiibo each that we use on Mario party 10. I'm looking forward to be part of the Splatoon gang this weekend.

You probably already know this, but please be aware that Splatoon has no good local multiplayer.

@KB90: There is a local 2 player mode but it's restricted to a mode called Balloon.I've never played it myself but from what I've ready it's pretty basic. There's a chance another mode or 2 could be added in future DLC,but that's just a guess.I wouldn't let that put you off getting the game though, you could even just play turn about at Turf Wars seeing as the matches are so short.

Does that mean no 2 player mode?
No 2-player mode worth getting the game for. Single player campaign and online multiplayer is where the fun is in Splatoon.
@KB90: The two player mode is quite limited. You can only use certain Weapons and play on certain stages. No DLC weapons or stages are playable. It's very repteptive, and balloon is the only mode. The worst part is only one person gets to use the gamepad, while the other person has to use a pro controller or Wii remote and nunchuck. I think Splatoon is much easier with motion controls, so one player will always be at an disadvantage, since only one person gets the gamepad. The Wii remote user can use motion controls, but it's extremely complicated to get the Wii remote in a good position to actually use the motion controls.
If they were to update the 2 player local co-op with something better than balloons, that would be great. At least a simple version of turf wars with bots or something.
@Spoony_Tech: I think best to leave it for now,my wifi is really slow.Even refreshing this page is slow.We done alright after a bad start but couldn't put a decent run together. Thanks for playing.
@OorWullie: Yeah it was a lot of back and fourth. At least we didn't lose a ton then win a few. Sorry for taking so long to confirm between some of those matches. Potty training my kid lol.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
I would absolutely love if there was a mode specifically for two local players to play online against two other local players. With super jump and gyro controls disabled, of course. That would be an amazing feature, in my opinion
I'm working right now, but right after that at 22:45 (CET) I'd like to play a few rounds of Splat Zones since my favourite SZ-map Hammerhead Bridge (Port Mackerel is also fine) is in the rotation. Does anyone want to squid up?

Ok I understand the first part, but why would you want to disable gyro controls for that?
My GOTY? Legend Of Zelda: Splat of the child. Ah no, I meant LoZ: Breath of the SPLATOOOON!
@pikminfan22: Nice. I also asked my buddy DaGreen again, but he's not sure yet since he just delved into the Witcher 2. ^^
But it wuold be nice if we could get four players together.

Cuz the pro controller doesn't have any, unless they would want people to do that awkward wii remote taping thing

Have you actually tried it? It's not awkward at all. If you use the Wiimote straps, the construction holds perfectly, nothing moves or anything. I even wonder if Nintendo only made them back in 2006 to use them with the Pro Controller. Because I always hated those annoying straps and untethered them form all my Wiimotes. So I wouldn't call it awkward but rather ingenious. But of course, a Pro Controller with integrated gyro controls would be better.
But I could never play Splatoon without gyro controls, so not using the Pro+Wiimote construction would be a no-go for me (unless you offer me mouse-control instead of gyro-control ).
@pikminfan22: I'm finished with work and will boot up Splatoon now and open a room. Hopefully we get a quad-squad together. Otherwise, we can play a twin-squad of course.
Ok Homura is also in.
