I was completing one of the amiibo challenges that take place at the final boss level, and Agent 2 says something about how they're shooting a Squidmas Special on Squidmas morning. What if, around Christmas, they have a special winter-themed Splatfest and call it Squidmas, with snow-themed levels and lights? That would be cool!
Also, the Squid Sisters are the headliners of every Splatfest, and they play the same song. I wanna see either the Chirpy Chips or Hightide Era perform live! They'd have to create new models and animations for the characters, I guess, but I can dream, can't I?

I so want this. Kind of like how Animal Crossing does it. I don't think snow would be an option since Inklings die from water. But definitely some pine trees and decorations! And Father Squidmas!
I also want an actual Splatoon Christmas special. Think animated shorts like they did with Pikmin. Or maybe even an anime OVA!
Anyone know why there's no Splatfest for Europe this weekend?

I've been asking that myself since Monday and I still got no clue. Searched the entire internet and even asked NOE and Nintendo Germany on twitter... no response.
Some say it's to prevent from the EU/AU splatfest from overlapping with the NA/JP one. But I don't get it, what's the problem in having all Splatfests in sync? Wouldn't that actually be even better?
It's probably the servers or something since I've been having some connection issues after the last match we did, either way I'm probably done for now as well since losing points for disconnections in squads is pretty dumb.
It's definitely the servers. I had the same problem since after the server maintenance, apparently they messed up something. Because before I had only one single disconnect in all those months.
I don't believe the overlapping of the splatfests should be an issue since they have been doing that from the start! They could have at least issued a statement of some kind letting people know about these changes!
