Topic: Splatoon - OT

I just realized you can increase the sensitivity of the motion controls in the menu Can't believe I missed that. Cranked it up to max, aiming is so much faster now

AFAIK, all(?) of the new stages has been constantly available during the first 24 hours after release. It's nothing new.

The choice of maps is being good for me. As well as the new map for both Turf Wars and Splat Zones, there's also the Warehouse in Turf Wars and the Port in Ranked, which are some of my favourite maps.

The new map is looking great so far. I love how in Splat Zones, there are two areas, but both areas are quite close to each other.

I hate Port Mackerel in Splat Zones. In any other mode it's fine, I just don't like how the zones are so far apart from each other. Once the other team is in control and by your base, it's hard to make a comeback and win. Splash walls work really well in this stage, too.

I'm surprised I'm not seeing more seekers being used in Rain Maker. I'm getting 3 to 5 kills almost a game with them as most don't even see them coming till it's too late. I almost always get a splat on Port Makeral right at the beginning as I send one right down the middle as soon as the shield is off.

Love the new stage btw. It could be my favorite one by far. It gives nice range to my limited .52 gal.

So I downloaded the free demo thing that's going on now and all I have to say is darn you Nintendo now I have another game to buy.

Just a few questions before I run out and buy this game.

1) How many can play at one time?
2) Is there offline multiplayer as well?

@Tasuki: There is an offline multiplayer mode but it only allows two players and it is watered down compared to the online multiplayer.

@Tasuki:
1) Only one player at a time can play per console, unless your using the local multiplayer.

2) Although the game does have local multiplayer, it is a very watered down version of the real multiplayer. Splatoon lives and breathes off of its online multiplayer.

And online multiplayer is one player only + it requires dual screens (both TV and the Gamepad).

I've noticed much more Krakens during in my matches the last few days for some reason, and much less buckets. The meta of this game is fascinating.

@jariw: Meh ive just learned how to use the roller good and how to use it on rainmaker levels and a bit on turf wars in splat zones and tower i would be useless

@Tasuki: You can do the other online modes offline. It has a unique multiplayer where you shoot balloons instead of inking the area or the other modes in ranked mode. In a sense, you don't have as much control over your character which is why I said it was watered down. The characters and weapons are preset. The specials are different two. Instead of building up to use your special, you collect cans to get a special. The special will automatically be used as soon as you touch the can.

@Tasuki: Not sure what control scheme you used but I highly suggest you learn gyro. Twin sticks will get you killed a lot online.
