Topic: Splatoon - OT

@ELI-ASH: It was Crazy I was going to play till I got to A Rank, but we kept losing near the end. (I got to 99 though :/)

@Aromaiden Just to note, I wasn't criticizing the gameplay mechanic... I was just pointing it out as it's quite unique and allows for creative strategies.
I also think this new mode calls for total teamwork. It's in this mode where the "C'mon" message is very important. I can say that I've used it a lot and received support from my teammates immediately. Very, veeeery satisfying!

Rainmaker is the worst mode in this game.

Rainmaker is pretty crazy, I think it'll be the only mode I won't play in regular ranked because it requires a lot of teamwork to do which randoms often don't do. I don't really mind anyways since I usually play Squads instead of regular ranked ever since I reached S Rank.

Anybody up for playing a bit o' Splatoon with me?

Just bought it this evening and I'm really enjoying it so far! I feel like I have a pretty good feel for the controls and I've found a few different strategies. So far I think I've enjoyed the charger (Or whatever it's called) the most. Hitting players with a fully charged shot is extremely satisfying, and if offers some unique ways to cover turf! The only problem I've had so far is when people leave mid-match. One round I felt like I was doing really good, but then I peaked at the map and saw we barely had any ground covered. Turned out 2 players on my team had left...

Anyways, can't wait to play with some friends later and to try out the single player!

I didn't really get to enjoy the mode, had a team plan made but it didn't seem to work, although I got good connection there was times that long distance lag actually killed me which looked cheap but probably wasn't actually cheap (killed someone with a inkzooka that didn't fire at mii, shortly after I got killed by the dead person...and some guns fired faster then they should of/got killed by untouched distance), also match making wasn't all that great. I say Tower Control is still my fav ranked mode.

Not sure I like rainmaker with randoms, its very volatile.
Also Skate park is a terrible stage and I'm saying this having won on it each time.

Disconnects happens sometimes, but I think you might suffer more from that at the beginning of playing the game. Level 20+ players and A+ rank players have played the game enough to have sorted out their internet issues.

That still sounds better than North Pole vs South Pole. I think grasshoppers are much better than ants, so I wonder whether they'll be much more popular.

Had an epic first battle in Rainmaker this morning. Playing on the Mall and got to the top of the hill and sent out a seeker and got 3 kills. Never before has that happened. Got 5 altogether with the seeker that game.

@rjejr I can already tell the seeker is going to rule in this mode!

@Spoony_Tech: .52 gal deco for the win!! Had a 7 game winning streak last night, crushing it in rainmaker. Went 10-5, lost 1 b/c the stupid game pad wouldn't register my instrument touch when we were down to 5. I nearly thru my Game pad thru the tv. That has happened before for a touch or 2, but this was a good 5 seconds of me tapping the screen, hard, slow, fast, hold, quick tap, it just wouldn't launch, I finally got splatted, time ran out.

Also had a 3 game losing streak after going B+ to A- when it was me, 5 A+ and 2 S. Isn't anybody A ranked? Quit to lobby and found a bunch of A- and A to play w/ and went back to winning, called it a night A- 50.

Enough about me. Rainmaker is the best. So much better, and easier, than tower control. I like the shield, the shooting, the swimming, the swim up the little platform at the end. I might not even play any other mode. I do think we haveva good weapon, I think that exploding shield is payback for the aerosprays, I don't think they can reach it and not get sdplatted if they lose. And they are so easy to pick off while they shoot it. Though like everything Splatoon it will all change in a week or so as people figure it out. But last night was my night to shine, go me.

@rjejr An exact translation of キリギリス is a Japanese katydid which is why I wrote that earlier. Although I was kind of confused why they were saying that grasshoppers were slow to finish their summer homework while ants would get it done right away. I guess that explains it though.

@rjejr: It must be the game not registering it because that's happened to me before. I tap the screen and look back up to play only to not have launched anything. That's happened to me at least 5 to 10 times in the past. You sit there walking around with a big target on your back unable to do nothing.

Oh and I think if you shoot someone before it launches is should destroy any teammates around from the blast. That would be cool for those that don't use the inkstrike properly.

Anyone playing ranked soon or later? would like to play some rank earlier then normal with friendlier faces if no one don't mind.

@Spoony_Tech: Yeah, just like that. Do you have a screen protector on? I'm considering taking mine off just to see if it helps, it's too nerve wracking otherwise. If you don't have 1 though I'll just leave it and live with it.

@yokokazuo: Apologies for earlier, meant no offense, Katydid is just a really weird word to read, it surprised me. And I don't know any Japanese besides domo arigato Mr. Roboto.
