Topic: Splatoon - OT

Better be fake. WiiWare, and they never announce a direct more than a day or two before, and with Iwata gone it's too soon to have a Direct without him. I need a month.

@BlueBlurIxM: Usually the boxes represent a game or app coming to a Nintendo system so the only way it would be present is if Twitch app and streaming was coming to Wii U which Nintendo has already said they're against because "it's boring".

Make me wish to go check by myself in the training area, but, taking this for good, a lot is explained.

I knew long range shooters were good, but even beating a charger make the poor Kalamarapid look awful ^_^;;; And the Dynamo Roller... That's a pretty scaring range, I knew it could splash far, but not so far to outrange most weapons XD

Anyway this just show the range, speed of fire, playstyle and other details, like secondary and special weapon, are important too for choose a good equipment (just saying this as a warning for a possible newbie passing by and taking the pic too seriously).

I found out while playing my friend's game that there's a basketball hoop in the training area, and you can throw Splat Bombs into it to test the bomb throwing range at an angle. Your Inkling even cheers when you score. I feel like I'm the only one that didn't know that; I mean the hoops right there and I never noticed it until my friend pointed it out...

@DreamyViridi: Don't worry you're not alone. That's new to me too. I just used to practice on the dummies.

@DreamyViridi: - I've always known it's in there - I think there were some Miiverse pics since Day 1 - but I've practiced w/ every weapon in the game and I've never seen it. Too bad they couldn't give us a couple of octolings in there for practice, jumping about like gremlins hiding behind the stationary targets, sticking out their tongues and going nah-nah-na-nah-nah, that could be fun.

@jariw the scoped versions of the Chargers also increase the range slightly too.

@rjejr - Yeah, a few moving targets would make for better practice. I'm also on board with the idea of Octolings being playable. Y'know, thinking about it, the AI is there; you think they could've worked as replacements for anyone that disconnected during a match?

@DreamyViridi: - Come to think of it, I haven't played single player kelp dome enough to know if they actually have AI or if they are just pre-scripted to move in a set pattern. Most of the other ones on platforms are just plain stupid, kelp dome I think I actually died once, focusing on 1 while a second 1 got me. It was my first time thru and I wasn't expecting 1, much less 2. The ink strike guys killed me once as well, but I can't recall if they have a pre-set pattern or are actually following where you go, they seemed to be be following me though. Wouldn't mind recruiting 1 of those. Maybe Spaltoon 2 can be more like a strategy game w/ different categories like Team Fortress 2, though that's probably already been discussed to death earlier in this thread. Callie or Marie could make a nice medic or buffer w/ invisible squid camouflage powers, maybe the old guy could be tech and build ramps over water. I hope somebody is working on it. The Minecraft guys have made several functional maps.

Someone made some unofficial bots for splatoon? Is this a new thing or something I've just missed before?

They're terrible (quite aside from the fact they ruin the game, especially for the poor person who ends up on a team with 3 bots). Recorded a video here: https://youtu.be/4qkUDdrXqaM It's much more obvious they're bots when you see it on the map, though sadly I don't have a recorder for the gamepad.

Anyone else experienced this?

@JamesCoote actually I'm guessing it is just a group of people (probably friends who managed to get on the same team) who are just fooling around.

@yokokazuo: @DefHalan: Could be they aren't bots, but the way they move and stuff they do just screams bot from my time playing stuff like counterstrike back in the day

The way those enemies act is so weird. I mean... I that happened to me, I would just switch off the game and restart it.

@DiscoGentleman: I had a game where I lost a player and it was ranked. I thought the whole time this sucks as we got beat pretty bad no matter how good we played. The only saving grace was I lost only one point because of it.
