Check out my YouTube channel if you love gaming, and Nintendo (especially Metroid) I think you'll enjoy my videos. :)

I think most players will always fumble with the controller at first, but it definitely becomes second nature for the players when they sit down and learn the basics.
Don't bash it yet. Play with it and then judge.
The gameplay isn't about maps? No more than any other online shooter.
The reason why the map is on the Gamepad at all times, is because the map changes all the time. Each stain of ink changes how the map looks, it changes how fast you can move, it changes where you need to paint, etc. What "other online shooter" with the same kind of dynamics in the map system are you referring to?
They might not have same dynamics, but maps and how you use them are just as important as any other shooter. Other games have more game modes too, so that changes how the map is played as well.
@EOTW I did have some issues recently; one time the map introduction video kept playing but I could see the battle happening from the Game Pad, and the same thing where there was only a white screen on my TV. Only time this has happened was on Arowana Mall, oddly. There was also one time where there was a full lobby of 8, yet the game didnt start and I had to wait out the timer. Other than that, nothing but the occasional communication error.
I've gotten some really weird glitches myself. I got the same one you had except everyone was in squid form, though I could clearly see them inking turf. There was another one where the battle started but the camera was locked to the spawn point. I had to play using the squid icons on the map. XD
So what does people think of the amiibo challenges, got over half of them done, the squid girl only offers splat charger challenges, the boy gives only roller challenges, however the squid gives you time attack and limited ink (EVILLLLLLLL!!!!!) challenges. Right now I have to say that my most hated challenges are the splat charger on the final boss and the limited ink challenge....mostly on the level with invisible platforms.
I had a thought. You know how you can order equipment from people you've played against and miiverse, well can you order amiibo exclusive equipment?
No you can't, the amiibo equipment will be grayed out so you won't be able to order it. Though I'm not sure if this is the case once you get the outfit from the amiibo.
...Why do people keep saying this game is unfinished? :/
Because they don't understand what the difference is between a "unfinished game" and a "small game with free updates"
I wouldn't call it unfinished. But I think friend lobbies should have been there at launch. Should have been a priority, really.
I genuinely can't see how an online mulitplayer-focused game could be consider 'finished' without it. Microsoft got freakin' Mobbed because they didn't have matchmaking completely right at launch, and rightly so, it' inexcusable. "Don't release a game that people can't play" seems to be a hard pill to swallow for the game industry, and it doesn't help that there are plenty of people willing to roll over and make excuses for them.
Microsoft got chewed out for the Master Chief Collection because they took games that worked perfectly for matchmaking and somehow messed that up. Splatoon is Nintendo's first big push into this field so instead of releasing it broken they decided to release an amazingly fun game so we can get our barrings in it, and they will support it with free DLC. Microsoft only releases free DLC once they have egg on their face.
I wouldn't consider the Splatoon maps and weapons to be free DLC but rather removed content from the full game added to make it look like it's free DLC. Take the 4 newly revealed maps for example, they take place in the single player campaign and are even in the Prima guide. Surely that's enough to suggest Nintendo has a weak summer game lineup at E3 and hence doing everything they can to get DLC in as replacements?
You are trying to reason with someone who would rather stay blind to the obvious.
They made it pretty clear how much content you were getting, and in a lot of places it's considered a budget game (£25-30 here), so I don't see why everyone is suddenly complaining now. The game is a blast.

That's still no excuse, and it's not a budget title here, so that's irrelevant to us.
Edit: Man, those were some bad typos.
It's also scary that, from an early poll, most of the people on this site are apparently fine with the minimal content on display. I suspect most of them haven't played many, if any team based online shooters in the past.
I think this is my downfall when it came to me voting "Poor, not enough maps and modes" for the content question, I look at the shooters I played on my Xbox 360 from 2009 onwards (all Halo games, most CoD, etc.) and the variety in Splatoon felt very bad in comparison. It kind of makes me wish I never got an Xbox 360 because then I'd probably have been happy with the minimal 5 maps and 1 mode for awhile.
QUESTION!: Do you have to constantly scan the Amiibo to get their content, or is it a one and done deal?
I got the three pack and haven't opened it... I don't really want the figures, but I want the content. If I can just scan them each once, then sell them at a reasonable used price (not looking for profit), then I will. But if you have to always scan them, I'll just return the unopened three pack, as I don't think the content is worth the asking price if you don't like the figures.
Fought the first boss and recorded it, though I'm not posting the link...so, you know...not my fault you don't save my channel. TwT lol
Anyways I'll go online from time to time in this game, but I noticed that almost all the players vanish sometimes during multiplayer. Is this a server issue or something? :/

Keep it PG-13-ish.
BTW, I got my copy, which I did not pre-order, I pre-ordered something else that I never picked up because the person at the register forgot I had more than one thing to pick up last time I was there, so I got the game somewhere else and transfered the $10 to Splatoon and Puzzle & Dragons Z + SMBE, and said the hell with that store...
