@Jariw I know, right? Really odd... Perhaps they all played while we all slept?
@VeeFlames Sorry, but Pineapples lost. Badly. Marie's making a comeback!
...in europe...
@TheXReturns Haha, joke's (kinda) on you because I'm almost always supportive of Marie. To heck with Carrie...
It's just that this time, Carrie actually took a stance I actually agree with. @yokokazuo Oh, I'll defiintely be squadding up soon... I need to repair the damage to my rank, and I need to do it fast before I get rusty.
I think I finally found the weapon of choice on Urchin Underpass SZ, and that is the Krak-On Roller. Geez after being plain awful with every single weapon I thought to use, I last resorted to kraky and started crushing. Too many tight corners on that map; people just pop out of nowhere and I cannot handle it with any other weapon.
Also Kelp Dome has too many grates for me to concentrate on sniping...
Ninja Squid is stupid good. Hands down best skill in the game. I love being able to sneak behind people and splatting them
I thought that for quite a while, but once I got to about, A-, players start inking around them a lot more, and if they saw me or someone else disappear they frantically ink all around them if it isn't already their color and it's near impossible to stage a sneak attack. Maybe I'm just bad with it now, but I would say enjoy it while it lasts. ...I do need to try it again on Mahi-Mahi though, as it's very flat.
I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke! My YouTube Channel! Video game related, of course! My Pushmo Levels
@LztheQuack: once you rank up enough Ninja squid is useless because people use weapons that have a special called "Echolocator" I suggest a shirt with "Cold Blooded" to counter Echo
@ELI-ASH: Ninja squid only appears on shirts, and you will not be echolocated a majority of the match, unless everyone on the other team has that special.

Only if they use it before I splat them to death

Actually, I've seen a drop in the number of people running Echolocator. The problem with Cold-Blooded, and Bomb-Sniffer is that they're way too situational. If the enemy doesn't have Inkmines or Echolocator, those two are completely useless. It's also surprising to see how many people don't bother looking at abilities, and just run sets that look good, with a mish-mash of abilities, and no real thought. I can understand low level C rankers not bothering, especially when they're just getting started, but I do question some A rankers who haven't looked at abilities. I mean, it may sound completely unimportant, but it makes the world of difference. If you haven't bothered yet, you should try finding abilities that work for you.
I kinda feel like a sales rep for some of the splatoon brands. XD
Probably old news to some, but shooting into an inkstrike will cancel it (or at least diminish the effect of it). I still see lots of players who get killed or just run away from an inkstrike.
Abilities? yeah, i played around with them for a while but to be honest didn't notice much difference. The system is far too obtuse anyway and I just wanna have fun. Same with weapons, i just stick with my trusted Zapper / Bomb / Echolocator trio that i know how to use.

@Mk_II: Pretty much what Jazzer said. I notice a clear difference between the different ones I take. I know for one that I get splatted far too quickly when I don't have any defence on any of my gear, plus I notice the time-to-splat difference whether I'm running with +damage or not. Often the difference is whether I win the encounter or not.
To add to this, even one Main Ink saver Main ability can allow a gun to shoot for a few more seconds before it runs out of ink; that's a huge advantage in every situation! Even for Sloshers, one Main Ink Saver Main allows one extra Slosh before completely running out of ink.
The only ability that I don't find much use for is recon, especially in Turf Wars. It might be a little more useful in ranked, but being able to see the enemy doesn't mean you'll splat them. Someone on your team could have echolocator too, which makes this ability even less useful when the echolocator is activated. Plus, I think there are many more "shirt exclusive" abilities that surpass recon. I would rather have stealth swim or cold blooded over recon any day, but that's just me.
If we're talking abilities; I'd like to mention Opening Gambit and Last-Ditch Effort (exclusive to headgear I think). Anyone even remember these ones? I like their concept but while they can be helpful in Turf Wars; I imagine they're near useless or very situational in Ranked. With that said, the one I care for the least is also Recon.

Stealth Jump's the best ability in my eyes, and, when it comes to ranked, Opening Gambit is far superior to Last-Ditch, simply because you'll play the first 30 seconds always, whereas you may not play the last 30 seconds. Recon's ok for a starting ability, but it's far outclassed by everything else. Personally, the three best abilities are, in order, Stealth Jump, Fast Respawn and Ink Regain, with honourable mentions to Ninja Squid, Ink Saver Main and Sub, and Opening Gambit, simply due to the amount of time you actually use them in a match.
